GRAPE JELLY'S READY!

the grapes are doing fantastic this year, we actually got to them before the birds did LOL,when they get ripe they get ripe in a hurry!we started off with 3 plants off of my father-n-laws plants a few years ago & they're taking off like crazy now

they are the concord type & makes the best jelly, they are blacker than they look in the picture, now it's time to make jelly!

here we have the finished product, we've already went through 2 jars LOL , I have blackberries & peaches in the freezer waiting their turn LOL

NOAH IS HERE!

Six grand daughters later, Noah is born!This is the first boy on both sides of the family, Noah Ellis Johnson was born to my oldest daughter this past Thursday, weighing 8.lbs & 7oz /21"long, 13 years of girl birthday parties, tea party's, cookie baking, sewing lessons etc. now we've got to think boy boy boy LOL, after 12 hours of waiting for him to drop the DR decided he'd better go ahead with a C-cection & 20 min later there he was !

one of my favorite spots in the bedroom, I love to surround myself with things that make me smile & memories the picture above everything is a birthday gift from my sister nearly 23 years ago, the antique green vase is from hubby's grandmother, the bird house was purchase from a prim/Antique shop, the little chair purchased at a yard sale along with 5 others, the little world books belonged to hubby's Aunts/Uncles, we acquired from his grandmother, the large coffee pot from an Antique shop

I was determined to grow something this year & with the help of Miracle Grow potting soil I did it! I grew something in this hard to get along don't wantta grow nothing dirt LOL LOL, with no tiller..yea what was I thinking! ha! but anyways with the help of a shovel, hoe, post hole diggers & a chair to sit in , LOL I did it, 4 days of getting this little cubby hole on the side of the house ready for my itty bitty garden

I had plans of having ivy & flowers coming outta the old grill back in the corner & a round flower bed in the middle but I think I'm a day late on that LOl oh well next year, now that I've discovered Miracle grow LOL

got the mimosa trimmed the fence, yea yea they're pretty but not when they take over!LOL added mulch hey do I hear you laughing , you spend 4 days breaking up dirt & see if you don't add mulch LOL LOL, the Zena's draw butterflies which is an added bonus

look at me! I grew maters! LOL the squash is still standing so we'll see if we get anything from them

taa Daa! my Herb garden! LOL I've always wanted to grow herbs , wasn't sure what to do with them &I'm actually trying them out in new recipes , my 1st time to but balsamic vinegar, easy right? go to store buy bottle that says balsamic ha ha 2 shelves full to choose from LOL LOL

and last but not least, saw this little fellow in the dollor store & knew I had to have him , he come with his own clay pot that he's glued to, the edge is craked & crackeled to give a weathered look,isn't he cute , he looks so happy in the garden!

Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might

Deuteronomy 11:18 Lay up my words in your heart and your soul

throughout God's word you will find that heart/soul/home go hand in hand , for a really good study, cross reference these words as it is as important to guard our souls as it is our hearts as the soul is the home in which the spirit dwells

BLUE MONDAY/SUNDIE GLASS'S

Welcome to another week of Blue Monday, we've been so busy I can't begin to tell you how busy LOL but we did manage to get a few Antiquing trip in, these blue dessert glasses are one of the many treasures I came home with

these will go great with my Blue Willows! there were only six but I knew if I didn't get them , I'd wished I had LOL, we're still busy busy, our grapes turned, now it's time to make grape jelly, our first grandson will be born this Thursday morning, after six grand daughters it's a boy! ohhh what to do with a boy! LOL LOL he will be spoilt that's for sure!

TMTT /APPLE FRITTERS

I had a few granny smith apples that needed something done with quick so I whipped up some apple fritters, these are easy to make & ohhh sooo good with coffee but if you're not a coffee drinker that have no problem standing on their own LOL, be sure to check out other great recipes over at http://blessedwithgrace.blogspot.com/

APPLE FRITTERS

******************

2c.flour(self rising)

3 tbsp.sugar

2 eggs (well beaten)

1c.milk

2c.tart apples(3-4)

*shift together flour & sugar
*add eggs
*add milk
*stir to blend
*refrigerate 2hrs
*stir in apples
*drop by tbsp. into hot oil
*roll fritters in choice of cinnamon/sugar or powdered sugar ( I do some of both)

seems I never have 2hrs to wait around on these LOL so I always mix it all up cover with plastic wrap & put into the fridge till morning & they have always turned out just fine
*how many fritters will determine how big or small you make them
*note* if too big they will not get done in the middle

The last several months we have been going through the Bible on Wed. nights at our church so doing this challenge is a like a great refresher course for me, which is making it an enjoyable study

upon doing this challenge you may feel you don't have anything to say in the comment department, but there may just be a little something that you share will make someone smile, feel uplifted even laugh, for example Sun. night the pastor reads from Gen. 19, I lean over to the young mother beside me who faces many challenges this world has to offer & whisper...see it's in the bible, you're supposed to wash your feet before you go to bed LOL whatever was laying heavy on her heart that night that one simple thing seemed to lightened the load as she smiled with a soft laugh

my mind also goes back to my grandparents, back in the days there was no running water, you pumped it out of a pump or drew out of a well with a bucket, so taking a bath every night was not a luxury as it is for us today but it was important to wash your feet at the end of the day before you went to bed

Summer is a time for fresh garden veggies, watermelon, baseball, hot dogs , the list of fun just keeps going but today I'm sharing with you the abundance of wild plums, these were perfect no worm holes, no bird pecks, don't think they knew about them yet, but they did before we left , you should of heard all the chirping going on LOL

first they get a good wash, then cooked down, then into the blender, LOL that's right the blender, it's amazing how it knows to spit the seeds out then cooked according to directions, different fruits require different amounts of sugar then measured out into individual jars then the water bath, then cooled down then add that special touch for sharing
