as you stroll through the bakery , lo & behold another display ~lol~everything in the little booklet can be found in the deli department, doesn't this look umm umm good!

soooo many good recipes on Pinterest, some common sense of what you know should take preference over what the instructions say LOL what I mean is when Paula says cook for 6 hrs, then add this & that & another 4 hummm really??? now I’ve cooked many of roast among other things in my time & know that any meat will disappear into space after so long lol, here’s Paula’s recipe

I didn't cook mine nearly as long as she says & my meat still disappeared but it was good anyway I put 8 in but only 3 came out I kid you not LOL!but I do like how it cooks down thick & it was goood, so I will give it another try but sorry Paula next time I’ll use my common sense other than your directions LOL!

Have you discovered Pinterest? do you love it? how many things have you made from there, tried any recipes? I’ve made quite a few things lol but will post about that later but will let you in on what I’m working on next

in my sewing room thee are two walk in closets, one is filled with sewing stuff & Lord only knows what else lol! & the other our stuff, the one in our room is full of Christmas lol anyways, one of the closets we are going to turn into this for hubby, the minute I saw this on Pinterest I knew it was his closet to be!ohhh I can’t wait, it’s going to be fabulous!

I came across this & thought hey I’ve got one of those, we’re using for a fake porch in front of the new shed LOL sooo get it out of the elements & to a safe place LOL

I found someone who sells this pattern! can’t wait to make some for shows

if all goes well I want to make this for Sunday dinner tomorrow , so I better make a list & go to the store!

yes this is the culprit for the snowflake mishaps , that’s my story & I’m sticking to it LOL ,my daughter tells me if I’ll use a icing bag & tip I’ll get great results so I’ll give them one more chance as it gets closer to Christmas, pretty or ugly they taste & eat the same LOL

some I dipped in melted chocolate chips & sprinkled pecans…too many pecans lol, hubby like plain ole sugar cookies so some didn’t have to go through the embarrassment the others did lol now who’s going to eat all this cookies ,we’re supposed to start eating more healthy come Monday LOL!

still working around tornado damage but all is well!we’ve got to get ready for a plumber to come in & an electrician, you know how they like to look in cabinets LOL! so guess today will be clean out cabinet day & regular hum drum domestic work LOL!

in the thinking possess, there is a need to go get boxes so I can box up the sewing room, oops who just sighed LOL it’s only so I can paint & move things in to create a better functioning room LOL!plus there’s 2 walk in closets in that room & it has to be empty to empty them out, one is full of sewing the other our stuff combined, I am going to turn them into a his/hers closet would you like to see my eye candy picture for his closet?

ohhh I can’t wait! this excites me more than redoing the sewing room LOL!

we have to go to town later for hubby a haircut, while we’re out I may go by Lowes & give that sales girl one more chance to wait on me LOL for those who missed that story I tried to get paint a few days ago & after waiting 10 min & 3 others coming up to the counter I gave it up

I’m not sure if my grandchildren have ever experienced , what we’d call an old fashion picnic , the word picnic generally means you’ll be at the park or zoo but most definitely sitting at a “picnic table” somewhere lol

after all isn’t it all about the buffet anyway lol

STARTING OFF THE NEW YEAR

Are you getting off to a good start for the New Year? we’re going through one room at a time, complete overhaul, paint, rearrange, organize, fluff, cull out,one room down & eight to go, whew! good thing I have a small house LOL

the whole month of Jan is dedicated to the sewing room, yea there’s that much stuff in there LOL I want it to where I can have friends over & have sewing days, I “want” a couch in there, a table, bookcases humm we shall see how that turns out but one thing for sure ! those dark yellow walls has got to go ,LOL

since the rooms are kinda small I’m thinking all rooms toward the front of the house need to flow with the same color, yea I know! that’s a lot of paint! LOL upon entering the back door you face the kitchen, a room to the left & bathroom to the right & living room straight ahead past the kitchen, my neighbor calls it a shotgun house cause you can stand at the back door & shoot out the front door LOL off to the left of the kitchen is a bed room & sewing room & off to the left of the living room is a bed room & another we use for the office so I’m thinking all the rooms you ca see from entering the back door need to be one color, this should keep me busy for a while LOL

then there’s those “just for me” projects to catch up on LOL

today I am working on cleaning up the sidebars on my blogs, deciding on new backgrounds

and last but not least, trying to redeem myself from those pitiful snowflake cookies I made Christmas LOL! the oven’s hot & the dough’s chilled & I just realized I didn’t leave out enough flour to keep the rolling pin from sticking, so guess it’s to the kitchen to turn off the oven & to the store for a bag of flour, if I didn’t know better I’d think those cookies are trying to get the best of me again LOL!

We’ve got to have the craziest weather, feels like Summer some days then , here comes the frost & low temps,some have reflected back on what all they’ve done all year, New Years Resolutions, but I figure if I say I wantta eat better, lose a little weight, ok a lot LOL, organize the house, sew more bla bla bla, well don’t we say that all year round anyway lol! as I scroll through pictures saved in my eye candy folder I dream of spending more time on the porch

THERE WAS JUST ONE

yep just one standing all alone this year LOL it just didn’t seem much like Christmas this year but I did put up a small tree in the guest room for the grand kids when they came to bake cookies, there was one on it’s way to being assembled in the kitchen but soon unassembled to be put up for the church Christmas party, no Christmas Tour of lights party this year, there’s still a lot of tornado damage to be cleaned up & I sure didn't want to light it up LOL but Spring is coming & there’s much to be done, where there was a carport I hope to replace it with a patio room, if ‘m going to dream I’m gonna dream big LOL! I have a plans for the inside of the house, lets just say we’ll start with baby steps & a can of paint LOL

anyways, back to my one & only tree that made it up this year ,poor thing didn’t even get finished, the grand's came & went so fast it didn’t matter

while visiting my brother-n-law in VA. during Thanksgiving I picked up these snowmen pillows, I just love them & had to have them! this room I dare say has been this color for over 15 years, there’s lots of plans in the works for this room

LOL just 3 years to be exact ,today we celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary

we’ve seen good times, bad times, happy times, sad times & now seeing blessed times with God’s riches, we were one, then became two joined together but then realized that it takes three to make a marriage, Jesus' name ends with “US” without Jesus there can be no “us” we are blessed with three grown children whom we are so very proud how their life has turned out & seven grand babies

I thought I’d try my hand at royal icing to get a head start on new cookie ideas for next year, I loved that they stayed round lol, loved how the blue turned out ,but my goodness what happened to the snowflakes oh well, it didn’t keep them from getting eaten people will eat anything at Christmas !

CHRISTMAS IS SOOOO CLOSE!

Hard to believe, Christmas is less than two days away, this year really doesn’t seem like Christmas to me this year, we’re still dealing with clean up from the tornado so the outside didn’t get decorated, no need lighting up that mess LOL but there’s been much love & getting together with family , not to mention all the birthdays in this month,

we’re so blessed to still be able to come together with family , we had Christmas with the kids & grand kids this past weekend,

Christmas day we’ll all gather over at my sisters (Picket) upon cleaning & doing around I came across some love letters, yea that’s right! love letters LOL from way way back when we were dating & I was staying with my sister when they were living in Louisiana, we thought they had been ruined by the storm as there's or should I say “was” a lot of things stored in the shed so Christmas Eve we will sit in the middle of the bed & read to each other & laugh at things we said 36 years ago LOL

the New Year is fast approaching & already I see new adventures coming our way, lots of new ideas for the house, new traditions with family & grand kids where ever the New Year takes you be sure to take Christ with you & remember that Jesus is the reason for the season

12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS COOKIES

WEEK 12 COOKIE DELIVERY

Tonight a friend of mine came over & we baked cookies all night long, got a late start & with taking a break & grabbing a bit to eat it was 1;30 am when she went home LOL, in the morning, if able lol we will deliver to our church family

all boxed up & ready for delivery!

#1 Christmas Candy Cookies

1 1/2 c. self rising flour

1/4 c. cocoa

1/4 c. butter

1/2 c. sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

blend flour,cocoa, butter, mix sugars & eggs, knead 1’2 min, dough will be stiff, shape into balls & cool in fridge for about 30 min. preheat oven to 425, bake 10 min, till they slightly rise & begin to crack, transfer to a cooling rack, melt chocolate chips & dip tops of cookies, sprinkle red/green sugars on top

#2 CANDY CANE KISSES

1 bag candy cane kisses

1/2 c. butter

1 c. sugar

1 1/2 teas. van

1 egg

2 c. all purpose flour

1/2 tesp. salt

1/4 teasp.Baking soda

2 Tabsp. milk

red/green colored sugar

preheat oven to 350, beat butter, sugar, van & egg in large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder & salt, add alternately with milk to butter mixture till well blended

shape into 1” balls & roll in colored sugar, bake 8-10 min, place candy in center of each cookie once out of the oven

#3 SNICKERDOODLES

1 1/2 c.plus 2 tabsp. sugar

1 c. butter (2 sticks) softened

2 eggs

2 3/4 c. all purpose flour

2 teasp.cream of tarter

1teasp. baking soda

1/2 teasp. nutmeg

1/2 teasp.cinnamon

pecan halves

combine 1 1/2 c. sugar, butter & eggs beat on med speed, add flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, cover with plastic wrap , chill for 1-2 hours, heat oven 375, in a small bowl combine sugar & cinnamon, roll dough into balls & roll in cinnamon sugar mixtures, press a pecan half into the center of each cookie, bake 10-12 min, let cool 1 min before removing from pan

#4ROCKY ROAD FUDGE

3c. milk chocolate chips

1 14oz. can condensed milk

1/4 teasp. salt

1 c. nuts (optional)

1 1/2 c. mini marshmallows

melt choc. chips, salt,condensed milk till smooth, add marshmallows, stir till completely covered, pour into a Pam sprayed pan, ref. till set

#5 SAND TARTS

1 c.butter (2 sticks)

4 tabsp.powered sugar

3 c. plain flour

1 c. chopped pecans

cream butter & P. sugar, gradually add flour to butter mixture, roll & shape into half moons, bake 350 about 20 min, roll in powered sugar while still hot

Hope you have enjoyed the ending to 12 weeks of Christmas Cookies & sweets, I have tried a few new recipes that are not keepers in the recipe box, especially the fudge! LOL

SUGAR SCRUB WAS A SUCCESS!

I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right but was assured it looked right after posting questions on a craft forum I’m a member of

so I jarred some up for a friend that had open house to her shop this past weekend, she told me today that she showered with it & loved it!

I’m so proud of myself ,lol I actually ventured out & tried something new & did it right! LOL! there is nothing on my calendar for tomorrow, can you believe it! a blank square! whew! so there’ll be lots of cleaning, decorating & crafting going on whoo hoo! might even get in some reading, a free day oh happy day happy day! LOL

12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS COOKIES

WEEK 11

Can you believe it’s been 11 weeks, how many cookies & goodies have you made? do you have any favorites? any keepers for the recipe box? this week I found a cookie on pinterest, I think it may need a little tweaking lol! my baking sheets are sooo old, so I tried to crop the picture to the best part of the pan LOL LOL

this recipe the cookie really doesn’t spread so I mashed them down just a bit, not sure if I should have but I'm not use to the not spreading out part LOL, anyways as long as you can eat them right? LOL , they’re a little more messy than I would normally do but I was tired & pooped out when I made them last night as I had been at the church with a few of the ladies baking allllllllll day & I mean allll day up till 8:00 pm lol for orders we’d gotten for Christmas

ok back to the cookies lol I came across this recipe on pinterest & thought how cute for Christmas, they do make up cute & taste good, just don’t be pooped out when you make them LOL

Chocolate Candy Cookies

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups self-raising flour

1/4 cup cocoa

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 package

vanilla sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

Directions

There are two ways : or you rub the flour, cocoa and butter with your fingers or place them in a food-processor and pulse few times

Mix in the sugars and the eggs (pulse few more times)

Place the dough on your working area and knead for 1-2 minutes until it can be easily shaped in a ball.

shape small balls, about 11-12 grams each. I had 38 small balls.

Place the trays in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Meanwhile heat the oven at 425 F.

Bake the cookies for 10 minutes until slightly risen and start to crack.

Transfer them to cooling racks.

Now, to decorate them I used around 6 oz chocolate chips (60%) and some Christmas sugars

Dip the top of the cookie in melted chocolate and sprinkle with some sugar.

I thought the dough would never blend to make a ball but it finally did, probably because I was tired & did it by hand lol next time I will use my big mixer lol

but I believe I see a free day on the calendar lol! this week is full! I mean full actually the whole month LOL, today is filled with finishing up decorating the church for Christmas, making sugar scrub, drying oranges, working on decorating the house, getting ready for my tour of lights party, company Christmas dinner tonight & lets don’t leave out those domestic chores LOL rest of the week is filled with baking at the church, we’ve already begun to get loaded with orders, helping decorate & set up for her grand opening of her business then her open house, supper & cookie baking with the grand kids, whew!

but behold! I see a blank space on next week is it true? is it a mirage? LOL could I’d forgotten to pencil something in? LOL awww how good a solid white block looks on the calendar , a day of good movies, good books to curl up with, crafting awwww I am so there on the …… surely you didn’t think I’d say the date so you’d come up with something for me to do or somewhere to go did you so remember shhhhhh! not a word!

GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS

DAY ONE

Ready or not Christmas is coming lol, I’ve yet to decide when to squeeze in my Tour of Lights party, which tree to put where this year, I planed on starting in the guest room, I did get the tree up only to find there’s a strand of lights missing so day one’s going kinda slow lol so I’m making a list & checking it twice for a more productive day tomorrow lol on the other hand I did get some DIY’s in over at http://nannasraggedys-n-prims.blogspot.com/ I’ll be going through DIY Christmas projects & all that which today consisted of drying orange slices & preserving holly branches, there’s much decorating to be done,a Christmas party here & there , cookie bake day with the grand kids,craft day with grand kids ,just to name a few sooo it’s back to making a list & dragging out more Christmas stuff because….

12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS COOKIES & SWEETS

can you believe we’re into week nine, how many recipes have you tried out, well I tell ya, I had to just stop buying chocolate chips & marshmallows, for I only made rocky road fudge abut 4 times LOL, I came across a recipes on pinterst called twice baked sweet potatoes & thought how sweet ! easy right? wellll maybe LOL, after it was all over & done with I decided to call it ……….WHAT NOT TO DO WITH TWICE BAKED SWEET TATERS LOL

1st you make double sure as to how long the recipe said to bake the sweet potatoes

normally 1-2 hrs but in this case was too much for this recipe, you’ll see why lol

pretty right? lol the only one ok ok I’ll show you,

when cut in 1/2 & scoped out you’re left with a boat to refill but when you bake reg. length of time you get potato skin that has to be mashed into the shape of a boat lol, well we’re in it this far so on with the toppings

a little too heavy on the cinnamon lol, might as well follow through so proceed to melt marshmallows

now although this is still editable lol I would not serve it to company LOL so I scooped out two & proceed to fix plates for lunch chicken-n-dumplings, turnip greens & sweet potato casserole??? as nothing happened LOL

now say you try this recipe at the last min & company’s knocking at the door & it looks like this humm what to do, all is not lost, you can still save face! you can redeem yourself! you can save your dignity! all is not lost & no one will be the wiser, scoop out all sweet potatoes & mix all up & place in a pretty serving dish, add fresh marshmallows &place back in the oven

clean up all the evidence of trying to make twice baked sweet potatoes & smile as though you meant for it to be sweet potato casserole all along

I don’t like to let my recipes to get the best of me so I’ll be trying this one again lol

that was my thoughts when I opened it, there were no instructions just 2 pieces inside the box seriously the only thing it said was to add water to the rim lol hummm how does the water keep from coming out cause when you look through the slits you see the stove lol ok lets try this thing & see what happens lol

so far no water coming out the bottom whew! meat seems to be grilling up, I’m not sure how it worked but there was no mess on the stove, all inside that little rim LOL who knew you could grill on a hubcap

have you thanked him that you woke up in your right mind this morning, another day to praise him, to live for him, to witness for him, when we know in whom we serve we can walk out of the fiery furnaces of life & say no matter what comes my way I’m blessed anyhow , do you know what a blessing it is to be able to have that free will, the freedom to even serve & worship your God,there are countries all around us that doesn’t have this freedom

12 WEEKS OF COOKIES

CHEX HONEY NUT CHERRY CRUNCH

4 1/2 c. Honey Nut Chex cereal

4 1/2 c. Rice Chex cereal

2 c. whole cashews

1/4 c packed brown sugar

1/4 c.butter

1/4 c. honey

1 teaspoon salt

1 c. dried cherries

in large microwaveable bowl mix cereals & cashews ,set aside

In large microwaveable bowl, microwave brown sugar, butter, honey & salt uncovered for 1 & 1/2min, stirring after 1 min until mixture comes to a boil, stir & pour over cereal mixture till evenly coated

Microwave on high 4 min stirring every 1 min. stir in cherries & microwave an additional 3 min. stirring every min.

spread onto wax paper or foil to cool, store in air tight container

when cooled place in an airtight container & enjoy! this canister will go with me tomorrow as ladies from the church are getting together at one’s house for a fun day filled with baking cakes & candy for our Holiday fundraiser, I also made that fudge again lol

How pretty is that lol I bought this pepper sauce from a sweet lady a few tables down from me at my Christmas show, I look forward to seeing her every year as she is a joy to talk with , not only is she sweet , she wrote down how she made it, she does the water bath method which makes it great for gift giving, I can’t wait to try my hand at making my own pepper sauce

I’m also trying my hand at growing herbs, I have a few recipes put back to try out , for example, doesn’t this bread look delicious?

we’d had a new kitchen store open up in the Mall & they sell those cute bottles you see peppers & herbal dressings etc in , yea I wantta try this to with my herbs, if they grow that is!LOL it’s not even the Holidays yet & I’m getting excited for the new Summer's that’s coming LOL

the phone rang early it was my sister telling me that our Aunt had passed away, this now leaves my mom down to one sister out of seven brothers & sisters

my heart ached in so many different directions, my heart ached for my mom who is getting up in years & because of health reasons couldn’t get out to attend her sisters funeral, my heart ached for my cousins, Pam, Mary, Bill, Gary, Terry & Danny who now have lost both parents & having to face the upcoming Holidays & explain to children & grand children why grandma isn’t there

with this & my show back to back made for a long weekend, along with my parents 61st wedding anniversary, there is much catching up to do with the Proverbs in 31 days & A confident Heart study I’m doing over on my Sitting at His feet blog,

cleaning & getting the house back in order from all the sewing , painting, gunging slinging that’s been going on over here for my show, now that it’s over it’s time to get ready for the Holidays, today I’m working on the office & I just may put up a tree in here when nobody’s looking LOL

I came across this recipe while doing the 12 weeks of Christmas cookies & goodies,I’ve attempted to make fudge at different times in my lifetime only to have a big mess on my hands , as I explain this to the blogger who posted this she assured me that this was a no fail recipe & to give fudge making another try so I did & wow wee just look at it! this morning I was expecting it to be back in the melted stage but it was still holding it’s own ohh so pretty , yea! ROCKY ROAD FUDGE

3c. milk choc. chips

1 14oz can sweeten condensed milk

1/4 tsp.salt

1c nuts if desired

1 & 1/2 c. mini marshmallows

melt choc.chips,salt & condensed milk over low heat stirring constantly till melted

add nuts & marshmallows stirring till completely coated

spread into lined pan or you can spray Pam, chill till set & ready to serve

this makes more than the little 9x9 square pans, I had to take it out & spread it into a longer glass Pyrex pan & still thinking I can get away with the next size up on the next go around, it really depends on how thick you like it

CHRISTMAS COOKIES WEEK 6

SAND TARTS

Mercy all those cookies! LOL last night around 8:00 I go into the kitchen & start pulling out my favorite recipes, hubby is trying to get ready for work & ask who you taking those to/ I reply my blog! LOL

this recipe is one of my favorites, the card is well used as it’s typed out on a typewriter from my mother-n-law way back in the 70’s yep I’ve had it that long along with many others,

I’d like to make a special scrapbook of all her recipes she’s given me along with my 98 year old Aunt etc ok back to the recipe: cream 1 c.butter with 4 Tabs' powdered sugar adding 3c.flour gradually

cookie dough will be very course & dry like, don’t get scared you can do this lol

after the 3rd c. of flour it’s best to start working the dough with a fork or your hands “if clean” LOL then add pecans

roll out small log shapes & shape into 1/2 moons

bake @ 350 for about 15 min, depending on how thick you make them will determine the length of time to bake, watch them carefully as they look the same coming out as they do going in

while cookies are still hot from the oven, roll in powdered sugar, this recipe does not call for sugar, the sweetness comes from the powdered sugar

at this point I’m ready for more pictures & hubby is reaching…oh no you don’t I haven’t taken a picture for the blog yet geeze!, week 6 he should know this by now LOL

SAND TARTS

1 c. butter (2 sticks)

4 Tabs. powdered sugar

3c. flour

1c. chopped pecans

additional powered sugar is needed to roll hot cookies after coming out of the oven

cream butter & powdered sugar , gradually ad flour, fold in nuts, shape into small 1/2’ logs & shape into 1/2 moons,place on ungreased cookie sheet & bake @ 350 about 15min or till done

while cookies are still hot roll in additional powdered sugar

now what to do with all those cookies? bag some up for a neighbor of course!

WEEK 5

five weeks so far, that’s a whole lot of Christmas goodness LOL seem like every time I turn around somebody’s wanting me to make Oreo balls, they are easy to put together, matter of fact I just made some this past weekend for my grand daughter’s birthday party

OREO BALLS

1 /pk. Oreo cookies(crush)

1/80z. cream cheese(soften)

1/pk.white almond bark

1/pk choc. almond bark

crush Oreo's or chop in processor & blend with softened cream cheese

roll into walnut size balls

chill for 1 hr.

melt about 3/4 of choc bark & dip Oreo balls

allow to harden & cool on wax paper (I use foil)

then drizzle alternating choc. over dipped Oreo balls

I do 1/2 & 1/2 white w/choc drizzle & choc. w/ white drizzle

I thought surely those pears would be too far gone when I got back from Tenn. LOL but they held on & held their own! this time I was smart, peeled, halved & into quart jars this time LOL

this past weekend we celebrated one of the grand daughters birthday, Courtney turned 13,that’s not bad when you think we’ve got one about to turn 15! ahh but the twins keep us young lol they’ve grown so much!

the Lord has truly blessed my daughter with the talent for making cakes ,

with six grand daughters & one grandson who is walking now!there’s always a party! LOL I’m down to right at 2 weeks till show time so I’m about horded up in the sewing room lol you can keep up with all that excitement over on my raggedys blog

PEAR MADNESS STRIKES AGAIN

Well bless her sweet pea pickin heart, Sue hit us up with pears again, thank goodness not as many as the first time lol & proceeds to tell us us there's another tree about to be ready & is loaded , what to do with her lol, I know this much, there’ll be no trying out new recipes,lol peeled, & into syrup mixture they will go I was pleased how these turned out for my 1st time canning any, in the next 48 hours I will be dealing with these pears, making Oreo balls for my grand daughters birthday party & finishing up a 36” pink headed Annie for a friend of mine , Fri it’s off to my daughters to help set up the gym for the party 20 + 13 year olds whew! we had planed to go to Tenn. sat night to go back to the Miracle Theater,some of the ladies from the church were there a few weeks back while attending a ladies conference ,it is awesome! http://www.miracletheater.com/churchgroups/miraclevid3.html hubby was suppose to go out of town the 29th but now they say 23rd, mercy soooo party Fri night, which is tomorrow! whew! leave for Tenn, , home late Sat night, send him out the door Sun morning, go to church, come home & take a nap! FALL GOODNESS

Fall is documented on the calendar as well as Winter but here in Ala it’s hard to tell if either is actually here, with the crazy temps, so that’s why we’re still cutting grass LOL but it doesn’t deter the goodness of Fall baking in the kitchen, this past week I made cinnamon bun popcorn & pumpkin cut out sugar cookies, love my new cookie cutter!

I also started using wilton’s cake food coloring in the little jar, they make cookies have the most vive rant color!

CINNAMON BUN POPCORN

12 c. popped popped corn, (this is usually about 2 reg. sized bags )

1 c.pecans

1c. brown sugar

3/4 t. cinnamon

1/4 c. karo syrup

1 stick real butter

1/2 tsb. baking soda

1 tsb. van.

3 sq. almond bark

preheat oven to 250, pop popcorn, place popcorn & pecans in large separate bowl ( it needs to be big enough to be able to turn the popcorn while pouring the hot lig. over to coat)

combine B.sugar & cinnamon in lg. microwave bowl & set aside

chop butter into chunks & place onto of B.sugar & cin. mixture, pour in karo syrup & mic. for 30 sec. stir to combine, should bubble, add van & soda , should foam at this point

pour over popcorn, stirring quickly or it will harden,pour onto 2 foil lined cookie sheets or pans

bake 30 min. stirring & flipping popcorn over every 5 min ( I set my timer every 5 min incase I get sidetracked & forget) LOL if not crunchy enough bake another 5 min

melt almond bark in mic. & using a fork, drizzle over popcorn, let cool & break into chunks

SUGAR COOKIES

1 & 3/4 c.butter Crisco

the original recipe calls for 3/4 c.shortening,1/2c.butter,1/2c. Crisco I just always used the butter Crisco, it comes out the same

1c. sugar

2 eggs

1tsb. van.

2 & 1/2 c. S/R flour

dough will be sticky, do not chill it, flour the surface to be used, flour your rolling pin, roll & cut into desired shapes, it helps to dip cookie cutter into flour before each cut out, awww sweet memories of having nothing but a good ole glass to use to cut cookies out LOL

Bake @ 400 6-8 min, cookies will appear soft to the touch, don’t over cook, this is not a real sweet cookie, reminds me of a tea cookie, you can also give them an egg wash & sprinkle sugar on them while baking, don’t let not having cookie cutters stop you! get those glasses out & bake some cookies!

what does the word Believe mean to you? (Jn.14:1) Believe in God, Believe also in me (Ac.8:37) I Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God (Ac.16:31) Believe on the lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, are just a few of the many scriptures on Believe

The word Believe will also lead you into a deeper search of Faith & Hope, if we Believe then we have hope & it is faith that keeps that hope alive

CHRISTMAS COOKIES WEEK 3

As I’m planning out what to make for our church’s bake sale, Boston butt & fundraiser yard sale, whew! yea lots going on this weekend lol I thought about making cinnamon bun popcorn & bagging it in the sweet little fall bags, I make this for Christmas & it’s a big hit!humm hope I don’t eat it all LOL

CINNAMON BUN POPCORN

12c.popped popcorn (1/2c.kernels)

1c.chopped pecans

1c.brown sugar

3/4t.cinnamon

1/4c.Karo syrup(or honey works well)

1 stick real butter(1/2c)

1/2tsp.baking soda

1tsp.van

3 squares almond bark

you can use air popped or microwave popcorn,preheat oven to 250,place popcorn & chopped pecans in a large bowl & set aside

combine brown sugar & cinnamon in a big microwaveable bowl

chop butter into chunks & place on top of sugar mixture, pour syrup or honey over top of everything, microwave for 30 sec.stir to combine

should be nice & bubbly at this point,remover from microwave & add van. & soda, should be foaming at this point

pour over popcorn & nuts stirring quickly or it will harden, spread onto foil lined pan & bake 30 min. stirring every 5 min

if it' not crunchy enough cook another 5 min, give a final stir & let cool,while you melt the almond bark

using a fork drizzle over popcorn, when cooled break into chunks

Remember a few weeks back I said I was in pear twilight zone? LOL LOL, well three days non stop & no water was rough let me tell you, prier to getting all the pears from a friend, our water line busted & hubby was headed out of town, man what a mess! soooo all week I’d have to run down the hill turn the water on, gather water, run back down the hill, turn water off, what a mess! but I survived lol I wound up with pear sections

I’d never put up pears before,we opened a jar last night to test them out, tender & sweet, yeah! I did something right! LOL, wasn’t too sure which recipe to go with for pear butter but this I know, if I ever make it again I’ll not use the ginger , it taste ok, juts don’t care for ginger taste that much & hubby wont touch it with a 10 ft pole

LOL then there was pear preserves, not sure if that’s right, haven’t opened one of the jars yet, but I can tell you there’s a lot & I mean a lot of pear eating to be eaten over here, hummm Merry Christmas anybody? LOL

PEANUT BUUTTER COOKIES

1cup sugar

1 cup peanut butter

1 egg

1 tab. flour or till desired texture ( I add till it’s firm enough but not thick firm , to roll into a ball

mix all together, roll into desired sized balls, slightly press down the top of the cookies with the prong end of a fork, giving them a criss cross effect, bake about 8 min, cookies will appear to be soft but will continue to slightly firm up upon cooling

Welcome to 12 weeks of Christmas Cookies

I had shared this recipe a few years ago & thought it’d be a great start to the 12 weeks of Christmas cookies, they're super simple & really do taste like butterfingers

PEANUT BUTTER WANTTABES

triscuit crackers

peanut butter

choc.almond bark

spread peanut butter between 2 triscuits

dip in choc bark, lay on wax or foil lined cookie sheet

I dipped them out with a fork & shook off excess choc. then shaved the edges with a knife after they cooled to give a cleaner look

APPLE CIDER FLOATS

When I first came across this recipe I thought ok this can’t be good LOL I ‘m not against apple cider I just have to be in a mood to want some like hotdogs …ok we wont go there LOL anyways I came across this recipe & thought well most things I will try once sooo let’s give it a try, a lot of those 1st try's have became keepers for the recipe box so here goes, I think I got a little too excited & added too much of something LOL

GINGER ALE FLOATS

1c.ginger ale

1/2c.apple cider

van. bean ice cream( you can use reg or apple pie etc)

sprinkle of nutmeg

sprinkle of cinnamon

1-2 Tbs.jarred Carmel sauce( I used smuckers hot Carmel)

fill cup 1/2 full with cider, 2-1 ratio of ginger ale , big scoop of van. icecream,sprinkle nutmeg & cinnamon on top, add hot Carmel sauce ( I did not heat this up)

Welcome to Blue Monday, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything for blue Monday, the tornado took it's toil on us & with the computer tower being in the shop well lets just say , things are slowly getting back to normal if there is such a thing, hummm over here at Nanna’s awww no! LOL anyway going through & finding things you've had for a lifetime can be fun, I’ve had these Avon bottles which were once filled with bubble bath since the 70’s, they’ve always been packed away but I decide to pull them out & display them into my bathroom decor even if there's no blue in there lol

they need a good cleaning up first lol being home along all week this week I went to the library & picked up some delicious books on “DECORATING” “COOKIES” “COOKIE SWAPS” “HERBS” “COUNTRY DECORATING” DECORATING WITH BLUE”

now I’ll say it again, I’m not a Blue person LOL but I was drawn to all the “eye candy” within this book

I’m working on more UFO sewing projects,speaking of projects there’s another “it’s not what it appears” project I’ll be posting on my raggedys blog

there’ll be lots of jelly making going on, we’ve been so busy that all the peaches we picked, wild blackberries we picked had to go in the freezer & our grapes came in this year & in the freezer they went too ~lol~ I may call some friends over & have a jelly making party speaking of friend’s my friend Sue called & said her pears are ready, oh mercy me!

oh yea , almost forgot, I’m having hubby help empty out the sewing room before he leaves”bless his heart” ~lol~ during that week it will transformed into a new & improved sewing room which will be posted on my raggedy’s blog

There are times blogger gives me fits, but you never have this problem, right? LOL it amazes me how when I go to change something the button or the wrench thingy isn’t there to change backgrounds but sister (Picket) can go into my blog account & waa laa there it is soooo I call & say hey get on line & change my backgrounds & waa laa lol , I’m investigating how to get tabs across the top & actually have info when you click it lol, can anybody tell me how to make it go to an older post, say like if I put a recipe tab & want to pull up past recipes, or do I have to do all new stuff, with three to play with there’s plenty to keep me busy when hubby is outta town like figure out what my font keeps changing in mid stream lol, oh well I leave you with this, I came across this recipe the other day & I think we’re going to give it a try

APPLE CIDER FLOATS

1 cup apple cider

1/2 cup ginger ale

1-2 scoops van. ice cream (or seasonal like apple pie etc)

ground nutmeg & cinnamon for sprinkling

1-2 tabs.hot Carmel sauce

pour apple cider & ginger ale into cup

add van. ice cream

sprinkle on nutmeg & cinnamon to taste

drizzle Carmel sauce on top

serve immediately with a spoon & straw

Organizing, culling out,rearranging, tweaking, makes for room for more books LOL there’s more books just have to find where &how to place them, I want my office to be a room that makes me want to be here, one where I know where stuff is, one that makes researching a joy not a chore,I am also a firm believer in having things around you that bring you joy,the collection of Bibles atop the bookcases are Bibles we’ve had for the last 36 years yep we kept them all lol

the Angel is from a dear friend which reminds me of her & to lift her name up in prayer

more Bibles stacked beside her belong to my husband, they are from his childhood, from grandparents,one is actually his great grandmothers the tear bottle is a gift from my sister-n-law this past Christmas

there’s more tweaking to be done,remember when church’s had the wooden boards with Sunday school /attendance/offering/ Bibles etc on them????my pastors wife knows I love antiques & she entrusted me with our church's original one, can’t wait to show you in tweaking the office part 2!

As quickly as it had begun,

LOL LOL

‎2 days ago my sweet little 80 something yr old neighbor told her family that she saw her whole life relived and that God told her He was there in the beginning & all thru the middle and that he would be there with her in the end-yesterday she closed her eyes for a nap in the recliner & went on to be with the Lord-we all should be so blessed when our time comes

Are you thinking Fall yet? seems way to hot to think Fall will ever be in the air but it is coming lol, I came across a neat site Http://pinterest.com and came across a few ok a whole lot lol but thought I’d share a few Fall recipes that looked yummy!

PUMPKIN PIE FRENCH TOAST

Pumpkin Pie French Toast

(makes 4 servings)
Printable Recipe

Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons brown sugar
8 slices of bread

Directions:
1. Mix the eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, mutmeg and brown sugar in low flat bowl for easy dipping.
2. Dip the bread into the egg mixture on both sides and grill in a pan until lightly golden brown, about 2-3 minute per side.
3. Serve with maple syrup.

CARROT CAKE WHOOPIE PIES

cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups grated carrots
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line two baking sheets with parchment.
In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt together. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and both sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl then add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and beat just until combined. Finally, add the grated carrots, beating to distribute evenly.
Chill the batter in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
Using a small cookie scoop (mine measures about 1 1/2 inches across - you'll need to adjust the baking time accordingly if yours is larger), portion the batter onto one of the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake (one sheet at a time) for about 12 minutes, or until the cookies spring back when gently pressed. Transfer the baking sheet to a wire rack and let the cookies cool for 5 minutes then remove the cookies to the wire rack to cool completely. Repeat with all of the dough, alternating baking sheets.
Makes about 20 sandwiches
Cream Cheese Filling
from Martha Stewart's Cupcakes
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
6 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
1/4 plus 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and cream cheese on medium speed until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the confectioners' sugar 1/2 cup at a time, scraping the sides of the bowl in between additions. Beat in the vanilla extract. With mixer on medium, beat for another minute or so, until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
Match the cookies in pairs by size. Transfer the filling to a piping bag and pipe a small amount onto the flat side of one cookie of each pair. Sandwich the cookies together, and press the filling to the edges.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

PICKELS ANYONE?

there was lots to get into the two months without internet ~lol~ a sweet friend keep blessing me with cucumbers, well you can only eat so many so fast right? ~lol~ so all is not lost, I haven't made pickles or canned anything in like forever so thought I’d try a new sweet pickle recipe other than the old faithful bread& butter, now mind you I prefer apple cider vinegar but hubby brings home regular vinegar, no problem right? well we’ll say I have to call them sweet & sour pickles that way people wont know that they’re supposed to be sweet & not sweet with a wow behind it ~lol~I put some on hamburgers last night & hubby said those weren’t hamburger pickles ~lol~ I smiled & said remember the Andy Griffith episode where Aunt Bea made pickles & they had to eat them all, wellll somebody bought the wrong vinegar & there’s a whole lot of pickles in there so eat up!! ~LOL~LOL~

so Maurine suggest using the “live writer” that’s a good thing as I am able to be telling you my troubles ~lol~ buttttt it doesn’t let me post pictures, when I click insert pic & pull up files I can’t find it even though it’s there when writer is off…so figure!

sooo anybody out there know anything about how to get my java outta the void mode so I can get back to posting the normal way?

Two months is way to long to be off line, don’t you think~lol~my tower had a bad mother board & was supposed to been a simple thing take out & put new one in but nooooo computer guy had to try to make one that was compatible fit, after 4 trys he gives up & decides he will just take my hard drive out & put in a new tower, when I ask “have you yet tried to order a HP mother board, it is a HP after all, well that was just a 2 month ordeal but glad it’s over, my Van after 2 months of being in the shop from the tornado is finally home ,we still have trees everywhere too big to cut with chain saws & one still on our shop, soo still lots of repairs & clean up from the tornado but we are still blessed, I have a wedding to decorate for this coming week ,thank goodness this one is not out of town lol but at my church for one of our ladies just a rocks throw from my house whew!the church took a bad hit from the tornado as well & we’re just about to get it all put back together, yesterday, I came across a book recently that was titled “Too Blessed For This Mess” I said yes! Amen I’m buying that book! ‘~lol~with all the devastation all around me I can truly say I am blessed, there’s 2 months of catching you guys up to date so check back often on all of my blogs

with tempts reaching the 100's who can stand to cook & heat up the kitchen, but we've gotta eat right, do we eat to live or live to eat, ok so that's another story !lol~I wanted to cook my collards but didn't want to heat up the kitchen sooo out came the crock pot yes that's right the crock pot ~lol~ mind you I'd never done this before, even went as far to laugh at my pastors wife when she told me that's how they cook collards~lol~ so today I decided to let the crock pot do the cooking, supper cooked it's self & the kitchen stayed nice & cool, the cornbread was left overs, now you didn't think I 'd heat that oven up just for cornbread did you? ~lol~ a few seconds in the microwave & it was good to go! so the next time you want collards & ham hocks let your crock pot do the cooking!

the tweaking that is LOL LOL this project is leading into one project into another, will there be light at the end of this tunnel LOL I'm not happy with how light the color turned out but I believe I can live with it & be free to pursue other projects throughout the house lol along with the wall paper came the paper on the paneled board, twice the work, twice the mess

I was liking the white I really was & still do was even thinking of taking the cabinet doors off & displaying my white dish & antique milk glass collection but there was the ..."where to put the crocks now" soooooo back they went lol & here's where are are in this corner now

KITCHEN UPDATE

whew! if I never see wall paper again it wont be too soon for me LOL if wall paper wants to peel off then just Peel & paint right? hardy har har just look at this fun I got into lol,

behind the wall paper is a wheat printed paneling board & it decided to come off with it sooooo a one day project is turning into a weekly project lol but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel whoo hoo!

I was expecting this paint to be darker but I can live with it for a while lol, after every thing's back where it belongs, there's a little more tweaking in here but it doesn't involve wall paper or paint LOL so stay tuned for the final finale

CHINESE AT HOME/TMT/TUE

Eating out can be a good thing at times as so can eating at home, who doesn't like good Mexican or good Chinese or that just right steak from time to time& when you can get that restaurant taste at home that you love yumie! we have one of these chines restaurants about less than an hour from us but never had time to visit, now that I've discovered they offer some of their meals in stores now I'll like visiting when we're in that area lol

TWEAKING THE HOUSE/kitchen part1

with so much going on with the outside, we can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak, got the van off to the shop for repairs this morning, tops caved in, windshields busted, mirrors ripped off, paint job has to be totally redone ohhh I hope they can make my baby right again LOL,to keep my mind of the outside for a while I decided to work on the inside, I set out for a simple project, to tweet the kitchen then I decide to strip the wallpaper which you will see in part 2 LOL

I changed this corner up a bit , did have a collection of jugs etc, humm now where to put them lol but also thinking of taking these doors off & displaying my collection of white dishes with all my milk glass

It's amazing what you can do with an old rake handle lol

In this picture below is the only wall I have left to strip & paint for part 2 I'll explain that fun later loll

who says buttons belong in the sewing room LOL actually they're in bout every room of my house lol

cows & chickens take me back to my childhood growing up visiting my grand mothers farm & my uncles dairy farm

A Wedding & How To Fold A Chair Cover

LOL !my life is a happy one I wouldn't change a thing, I stay busy going too & fro, just in this upcoming month I have 2 weddings, a mother daughter tea & a conference to organize , set up, decorate whew! where did my "me time" go? LOL

FlyLady's Crisis Cleaning 101
GO GET DRESSED ALL THE WAY TO SHOES, HAIR FIXED AND FACE MOISTURIZED OR MAKEUP PUT ON. DON'T QUESTION ME ON THIS. JUST DO IT NOW. Put on some good working music. Not too fast, just slow and steady. peppy, but not aerobic. Light a candle that has a good scent or put on some spices on to boil on a very low heat.

We are going to start in our kitchens. As the kitchen goes, so does the rest of the house.
Set a timer and spend 15 minutes in the kitchen. If your sink is not clean and shiny, then shine it first, then you can fill the sink up with hot soapy water and start to clear off the left and right counters. Empty the dishwasher, When the timer goes off. Stop what you are doing and go to the living room.

Set the timer again and do 15 minutes cleaning off the coffee tables or picking up toys or newpapers. Concentrate on one thing. Not all of it. Get a laundry basket and put the things that don't belong in the living room in the basket. Take a garbage bag with you too. Start throwing away the trash. Don't get caught up in the guilt we have about recycling this stuff. Just bag it up for now. As you get your home in order there will be plenty of time to recycle. For now we are focusing on getting the home presentable. You can't do this if you are hyperfocusing on sorting and recycling. So get over this perfectionism attitude. When the timer goes off, head back to the kitchen.

In the kitchen set the timer for 15 more minutes, continue to work on clearing the counters. DO NOT GET SIDETRACKED AND WANT TO CLEAN OUT A CABINET. WE ARE DOING ONLY SURFACE CLEANING.

Now take a break and walk around and look at what you have accomplished in just 45 minutes. Set the timer for 15 minutes and drink a cup of tea or coffee or whatever you love and just relax. When the timer goes off. You are back in work mode for 15 more minutes.

This 15 minute session is in the bathroom. Clean the bathroom sink first, swish the toilet, then pick up towels and dirty clothes and put them in the hamper. DO NOT GET SIDETRACKED AND START A LOAD OF LAUNDRY. I MEAN THIS. LAUNDRY WILL COME LATER!

When the timer goes off, you are back in the kitchen. For 15 more minutes. We can do anything in 15 minutes. Keep working till the timer goes off. Then you go to the living room once again.

In the living room, continue to pick up and put away.

Every 45 minutes take a 15 minute break. Do you understand this?
Adapt this schedule to fit your physical limitations and children's needs. But you get the picture. Stay focused on one job for 15 minutes. You are going to be so surprised at how much you get done in a day's time.

My timer is my best friend.
You can do this. Now turn off the computer and get to work!

It's not hard, you can have these in your cookie jar in no time flat, here's what you do,RUN! don't walk to the nearest Walmart, approach the cookie isle with caution, you'll know you're getting close when the hint of chocolate begins to fill the air, steady now, don't draw attention to the cookies or yourself, the last thing you want is for an unsuspecting hand to come outta nowhere over your head & grab the last bag when you spot them LOL

YELLOW IRIS'S IN MY PURPLE BED??? LOL LOL

as you can see my purple Iris bed has been invade by the yellow Iris's, behind the tree in the corner of the fence is a rounded bed full of yellow, where these have somehow tiptoed their way over to the purple bed, the picture s is a bit blurred, ''sorry" but it's raining AGAIN! lol rain is good, I have nothing against rain loveeeee to hear it rain but when the grass needs cutting & making flowers behave & stay in their own beds wellll you get the picture LOL so since I can't play outside today I guess I'll play inside, do you ever get in the mood to strip a room down to the bare walls & start all over getting it organized? well I have entered into that zone & hubby will be the first to tell you he's so glad he gets to go to work LOL tweaking the house will be posted on my raggedys N prims blog hummm what to get into first uhhh ohhh The Walton's are coming on...I luv that show lol focus Helen! focus! LEMONADE UPDATE

last night I was giving these pitiful lemons some serious thought, knowing that my juicer yields more juice than trying it by hand I had that light bulb go off in my head LOL so out comes the juicer & the pitiful lemons , now with just 2 in the house there's no need for a whole gallon right? so I cut the recipe in half & made a half gallon, those pitiful lemons yielded just enough juice! I've never made lemonade using this method of making a syrup then adding the juice, & I gotta tell ya it was umm umm good!

the sandwiches are ham, cheese on dinner rolls with a mixture of ing. & baked in the oven

2 pks. hawaiian rolls(I used dinner rollsthin sliced honey ham swiss cheese(Iused amer.) melt: 1 stick butter,3/4 Worcestershire, 1 & 1/2 T mustard ( I used brown), 1 & 1/2 T poppy seeds ( I didn't use these cause I couldn't find any) 1 T onion flakesslice rolls in 1/2 mix sauce ing. place ham & cheese on rolls, pour sauce mixture over ham /cheese, replace sandwich tops & pour rest of sauce over sandwiches, bake in 350 oven for 15 min.

PAULA DEANS LEMONADE 2 cups sugar 1 cup hot water 2 cups fresh lemon juice 1 gallon cold water lemon, sliced Mint sprigs, for garnish Directions In a 1 gallon container, place sugar and hot water, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and cold water to render 1 gallon. Stir until well mixed. Pour lemonade over glasses of ice, squeeze slice of lemon on top of each, and garnish with a sprig of mint. with just 2 lemons in the fridge it just wont do !lol so it's off to the store for lemons cause I'm in the mood for some good ole southern homemade lemonade!

I've been stocking up on almond bark, it's hard to find around here if it's not a holiday season & I'm about to embark upon about making 200 of these for a friends wedding, plus the decorating, speaking of weddings I have my first outdoor wedding to do coming up in Aug. OK back to what I'm getting ready to make about 200 of lol

OREO BALLS

1 /pk. Oreo cookies(crush)

1/80z. cream cheese(soften)

1/pk.white almond bark

1/pk choc. almond bark

crush Oreo's or chop in processor & blend with softened cream cheese

roll into walnut size balls

chill for 1 hr.

melt about 3/4 of choc bark & dip Oreo balls

allow to harden & cool on wax paper (I use foil)

then drizzle alternating choc. over dipped Oreo balls

I do 1/2 & 1/2 white w/choc drizzle & choc. w/ white drizzle

oreo balls can be made ahead of time & frozen & dipped when needed which is what'll I'll be doing this go round lol

one thing I love & that's my buffets, whether it be setting up for holidays, birthdays, church events etc. while at my daughters yesterday,she was busy with people coming in & out discussing wedding cakes, one sweet little lady came to discuss her 50th wedding anniversary,after everything settled down, she says to me "mom if you want a cake for your Mother-daughter banquet, better let me know now" I glanced up at the computer screen & saw a huge cupcake tier & knew that was it! lol I said ohh that would bee sweet instead of a cake, I love this one.makeing the bottom a larger palte it's be sooo sweet, oh she even told me she'd make the tier holder oh happy happy joy joy!

can you say Armadillo ???LOL this guy has been feeding off some body's back porch for sure lol, look how fat he is, he's getting braver too getting closer & closer to the house, I had some good shots of him looking at me but they somehow got deleted , I'll get him again when he comes back !

with tempts rising in the 70's the birds are sure that Spring has sprung, this blue bird actually sat still for me to zoom in on him

I had a beautiful shot of a red bird but the camera deleted that one too, not sure what's up with my camera but good thing the girls got me a new one for my birthday, as soon as I figure it out I'll give it a try LOL

a friend told me that Walmart had Hollyhocks, I said no way! I've been looking for those for years, just something that takes me back to my childhood LOL anyways I made a B line to Walmart & there they were! oh happy happy joy joy! now to get them planted & hope they take root!

do either of these words describe your friends, can you say they describe you? I am thankful for good faithful & reliable friends, those are the ones I know will touch God for me when I'm not feeling my best,this past week I've literally been asleep in hubby's recliner trying to shake a cough that threw me for a loop & am just now getting all three blogs updated so be sure to go by each one to catch up on all the updates

just as these words describe my friends I pray that they describe me to them as now I stand in the gap for a dear friend in the church as her grand daughter undergoes surgery this week,even with all her worry she took time to pray & touch the hem of his garment for me & now I am touching it for her, waiting rooms can be a cold & lonely place but because of good friends I will be able to be there to listen ,to bear a shoulder to cry on, to believe with, to bring laughter to ease the worry
