AMERICANA WREATH

Show-Tell is hosted by Kelli over at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ be sure to visit all the other wonderful participants. Today I am showing how I took some ideas & added some touches of my own & made the 2nd wreath I've ever made! lol this one I made for my daughter for her first family 4th of July get together

I found the dried flowers at Michael's, inserting & hot gluing here & there, the little flags I found at walmart, I soaked them in my special cinnamon grunge goop

I went into my Christmas decorations & pulled out a prim tin star & traced it for the stars, I mixed water with the paints till I got that milky look
paints : Americna Williamsburg Blue/Cardinal Red/Antique white
when dry stars are sanded to give washed out look

The big star is from one of my quilt patterns, I tea stained then grungied up with my special cinnamon goop, hot glued a double cinnamon stick & tied on a strip of Americana fabric with 2 rusty bells

Here we have the finished outcome, I must say I was proud of myself never having made a wreath before LOL Take a look around & see all the possibilities you can come up with & I bet you'll be making a wreath in no time!

That is a wonderful wreath. I made one once from shells we had collected from a trip to the beach. I can't wait until summer to hang it back up!

This is REALLY nice. You seem to have an eye for composition. I love it! funny thing, my grand daughter and I made a spring wreath just today. I just have to either make or go and find something for a bow. Ours has some Easter eggs on it. I may post it next week. thanks for visiting my blog. I'm happy to meet you.
