CORNBEEF & CABBAGE SANDWICH / TMTT

While visiting Pat over at Front Porch Musing, I came across an interesting sandwich she had posted, corn beef & cabbage, well I knew what that was but in a sandwich? well it looked good sometimes we've got to think outside the box & try new things LOL so I did & it turned out to be a keeper! here's what you'll need

CORN BEEF AND CABBAGE

corn beef(sliced thin from the deli)

Larraine cheese(I used the Swiss with the holes)

shredded cabbage(found in the produce)

Cole slaw dressing(found in the dressing isle)

butter

mix Cole slaw dressing to shredded cabbage to taste( a little goes a long way)

add a thick layer of corn beef, Cole slaw mixture, cheese, then repeat layers

melt butter in skillet & grill sandwich

the second time I made this I used just 1/2 stick of butter & it did fine, I used a spatula & my other hand to turn it as it is big! LOL

here it is after it's all grilled

I cut it at an angle & added chips & we were all set to try this new sandwich, of course hubby kept asking where's the sour kraut LOL he said Rubens are supposed to have kraut LOL I told him it's on there, it's just not cooked LOL LOL

& so we have the final results

SUNDAY SELECTIONS/TASTE & SEE.....

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that trusteth in him

(Psalms 34:8)

Doesn't that look yummy, & let me tell you, it was! LOL, we had to go out of town for our twin grand daughters 2ND birthday this weekend & along the way we stopped at one of those peach farms where everything & anything is made with peaches, we got us each a fresh peach fried pie & these muffins caught my eye, peach pecan yum yum , I'm surprised they made it home for Sunday breakfast without eating them right up LOL, the party wasn't till 2:00 & it being a 3 hr drive we decided to make the most of it & struck out early & made some stops along the way & made a long day & night of it,I'll post more about the road trip later!

Psalm 42:1
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee o God

How long has it been since you hungered for God, to really get to know him to feel his goodness all around you, that good feeling down deep inside that lets you know you are loved by God, in all things praise him my friend, for this is the day that the Lord has made so praise him & be glad that you have today

BLUE MONDAY / FAVORITE POTS

Well, it's time for blue Monday once again ,no not the Monday morning blues but a happy blue morning as you stroll through http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ & visit all the wonderful people who are participating in Blue Monday by showing off their blues

I'm not a blue person as far as decorating goes but blue tends to pop up now & then like in my kitchen as prim as it is there's blue's hiding out in the cabinets LOL

There's something about these speckled pots that make food just taste better, this medium size is great for hams, roast, chickens anything you want to bake in the oven, for some reason the stores around here only put these out at certain times of the year, I was glad to get my hands on a new one lol

I'm not sure why this one refuses to show it's true color lol but it's the same as the one above, maybe it didn't want it's picture made , maybe it's ashamed that it's been retired to cooking muslin & dress's for dolls LOL LOL it made many a good big pots of soup back in it's day, mother load of chicken & dumplings for the holidays, balancing veggies back when we had a garden

we hope that you've enjoyed blue Monday, be sure to go by Sally's & get in on more blue fun
