PINK SAT./ GLASS TREASURES

Welcome to another great week of pinkieness1 Pink Saturday is hosted by Beverly who can be found over at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ where you not only will meet sweet Beverly herself for It's more pink Sat. participants, so run on over & fall in love with PINK! LOL this week I am sharing some of my pink glass treasures

This sweet little pink glass lady was a b'day present from sister, I had admired it many times at a local antique shop, & she would always ask, why don't you get her, well as fate would have it, she showed up at my work many many moons ago with it wrapped ever so dainty & surprised me with her
The pink bowl I found at our local craft show, not sure why I'm always drawn to pink as I am not a pink person lol but knew it'd be glorious for ladies luncheons or something down the road & at a steal for $10 , she proceed to tell me she'd had it since the 40's so I had to act quickly before the lady realized what she'd said lol I gave her the $10 & ran LOL, in the close you can see the detail, it has a peacock etched on both sides & sits on marble like balls

The plates I use a lot for our ladies luncheons on my buffet, they were also a steal that I'd found along the way of our many antiquing adventures, it's hard to see but the edges have clusters of grapes, they look to be along the line of pink depression, they belonged to the lady running the shop & she said as far she she knew they were as old if not older than her LOL I retook & darken as much as I could to get true color but they're just too delicate lol but they are a deeper pink than they show

Morning sis...I remember that glass Southern Belle! lol The bowl is gorgeous..I don't know why you buy pick stuff either....maybe it's flashbacks from our childhood...when we use to make little playhouses under those huge bushes there at Mrs. Springer's house..lol Have a great weekend ! ~♥~

Those are some great finds, Helen! I think that bowl truly is a steal, I love the little lady, and those plates are perfect for a lady's luncheon. Are they depression glass? A friend of mine collects it. She has amber, and her sister has green and some pink. I love the pink and green best.

XO,

Sheila :-)
