SUNDAY SELECTIONS

Good Sunday morning to you my friends! I pray you've had a good week & looking forward to a fresh new beginning of a whole new week, if this is your first visit we hope that you will come again, Sunday Selections consist of , a favorite scripture, history of songs, updates on my choir, sometime sneak a picture or two in etc.LOL

I love this little picture, it is flowers from my sisters flower garden, she took a picture & added this saying to it, it is good to surround yourself with simple things that make you smile, so I am going to print off & frame for all the ladies on our next upcoming ladies meeting

PINK SAT. /SIGNS

Have you got your pinks on today? LOL it's time to show those pinks & let um shine, I'd thought that I'd gotten rid of that ole pink fairy

but I caught her zapping pink fairy dust on some of my tin signs LOL, just look what she did!

TMT /SAND TART COOKIES

It's that time again, time for sharing great recipes & tips alike & you can find more yummy recipes that will tempt you to try at least once, but I warn you some you will make again & again LOL so be sure to visit http://blessedwithgrace.blogspot.com & check out all the great recipes , today I'm sharing an old favorite cookie recipe, if you love the little cookies known as Wedding cookies, then you'll love these!



SAND TARTS

1c.butter (1 stick)
5Tbsp. powdered sugar
2c.flour
2tsp. vanilla
1 & 1/2 c.chopped nuts

cream butter & sugar
work van. & nuts into creamed mixture
roll into half moon shapes(or round balls)
bake in 350 oven
Roll cookies in powdered sugar as soon as they come out of the oven

PINK SAT./VALENTINES

It's pink Saturday once again & sooo close to Valentines day & so was my birthday a few days ago LOL, be sure to go by & check out all the wonderful post today over at

where have all the good ole Valentines gone, the ones we grew up with or even seen just in the past few years are now considered vintage, it seems the sweetness of Valentine cards are lost

Today I'd like to share a sweet pink glass lady that I received from my sister a few years ago, I had been admiring her for several months in our local Antique shop & she'd always ask me why I didn't get her, but she showed up at my work one day & surprised me with her

TABLESCAPE THURSDAY

It's Thursday, another week of wonderful tablescapes, this week I am sharing my little buffet I set up for our ladies meeting this past Monday night, don't forget to go by & say hello to & visit all the wonderful tablescape post at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

starting at the bottom we have chicken wraps , I baked chicken tenders sprayed with cooking Pam in the oven, then shredded & added ranch dressing, then wrapped with shredded lettuce in wheat flat bread, they were so long that I was able to cut them in half, giving me a lot of extras

then there's fresh strawberries & man were they sweet!

then we have round Ritz crackers filled with peanut butter, then dipped in chocolate bark & white almond bark, after they set I then drizzled the melted chocolate across the tops

the punch was a lot darker red then it looks in the picture, it was just like drinking a slushy

traditional heart candies are a must at all Valentine related parties!

who says lights are just for Christmas LOL not sure why most of the flowers are showing up pink either lol but they were mostly red, the vase is from flowers from my b'day a few years ago

I took more pictures with another camera that is not coopertaing lol but they show that the table is set with a white with black poka dots on the bottom,with the black/white dots slightly gathered on the sides giving a bow effect

PUTTING ON THE RITZ

Good morning friends, how's your day going, mine started at 5:30 am with roasting chicken tenders in the oven, to later be transformed into glorious chicken wraps, washing strawberries, making Ritz PB crackers took to the next level, perhaps BAM! is in order LOL, if you haven't guess it by now, I'm getting ready to set up another buffet LOL for our ladies meeting tonight, pictures will follow later , now to go to town & get the last of the finishing touches for my buffet & pull all my notes together on what I'll be teaching, here's a sneak peek of one of the many yummy things for tonight

SUNDAY SELECTIONS

Hello, we're glad you stopped by, Sunday Selections is where I share with you a favorite verse, updates & happenings of my choir, church activities etc. This coming week I will host a Valentine party for our Ladies Ministries, I pray that the teaching will be fun as well as enlightening

EPH.4:29 says, let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace to the hearers

the Bible speaks about how hard it is to tame the tongue & that out of the abundance of the heart so the mouth speaketh, so for good things to come out, good things must go in, what are your eyes watching, what are your ears listening too

EPH.5:19 says, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord

We all walk down that rough road once in a while where nothing ever seems to go right, so you are not alone my friend, look up to the one who has brought you to where you are today, in the mist of your circumstances begin to praise him, as you go about the house vacuuming or washing dishes begin to sing praises to the one who can save, deliver & set free

My challenge this month at our ladies ministry meeting is to sing praises going through the alphabet, you'd be amazed how good & uplifted you'll feel once you get started, go ahead , give it a try, there is no right or wrong way to do this , you can sing one verse, two or the whole song, your choice of whatever song comes to mind, for me it's hard to get off the A as I choose Amazing Grace my chains are gone

In Luke chaper 19 we find the story of Zacchaeus & how Jesus tells him that he must abide at his house & wants to visit with him, like Zacchaeus, Jesus wants to visit with you my friend, open your hearts door & let him for every day spent with Jesus just gets sweeter & sweeter as the days go by

PINK SAT./HAPPINESS IS....

Today is Pink Saturday, I often wonder how I keep coming up with pink seeing I'm not a pink person LOL, we were out at our local Antique shop when I came across this cross stitching, what it said caught my eye, being cross stitched I thought humm I can incorporate this into my sewing room but ohhh it's pink! but the sweetness of it over rules the fact that it's pink LOL now to figure out what color to paint the frame

TABLESCAPE THURSDAY

Tablescape Thursday is hosted by Susan over at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ so be sure to go by & meet all the wonderful participants who are sharing their beautiful tablescapes, this week I am sharing a Valentine tea party I did for my granddaughters a few years ago, it is a tradition that they look forward to every year

this year theme was red & pink, with chicken salad sandwiches, chips & dip, chocolate covered strawberries, ice cream punch, cookies
the pink rose plates & little pink glasses's were the perfect touch ,purchased from Old Thyme Pottery, oh how I love that store! LOL

they get a kick out of using the punch bowl,as it leads to telling how me & their paw paw met as it is the punch bowl from our wedding LOL

TEMPT MY TUMMY / BLUEBERRY SURPREME

Although most of our days are still cool, & with crazy Ala weather bouncing back-n-forth from 20's to 60's it's not hard to dream of Spring, not only do we start planning the perfect layout for our yards &summer activities, it's a time for light & refreshing desserts & this Blueberry supreme is just that, I got this recipe from a co worker a few years ago, it's an easy, quick, refreshing & delicious dessert, you'll want to make it again & again

BLUEBERRY SUPREME

1 angel food cake (pre baked from your Groceries bakery works great )

1 pt. whipping cream

1 8 0z. cream cheese (softened)

1/4 c. powdered sugar

1 can blueberry pie filling

split cake into 3 layers

mix sugar,cream cheese & whipped cream untill smooth

spread between layers of cake

spread blueberries on top
