showus

I am linking up to Thrifty Chicks “SHOW US YOUR BATHROOMS”

http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/2012/07/show-us-your-bathrooms.html

How can such a small space take so long to tweak lol! I think the older I get I’m loving the quote “less is more” lol! I’ve been wanting one of these sweet t.paper holders for a while & 5o% off was a good time to act on it lol!

bathroom04 this old oil can came out of my husbands granddads  old barn,I love it filled with the multicolored eucalyptus

bathroom05 I can not tell you how I love this picture, when I first saw it at an antique shop I fell in love with it, the dog brings back fond memories of my dads  coon hunting days & the book touched my love for reading& can you believe the vender let me have it for less than ten dollars!

bathroom07 off & on we’d come across antique band aid boxes, perfect for my primitive little shelve bathroom02I’ve had my eye on this valance seems like forever, finally one day while in Lowes I said today you go home with me lol!

bathroom09I picked up this little braided rug while visiting my brother-n-law this past Thanksgiving , adds a sweet touch to the bathroom, who can remember beating a big ole braided rug with a boat paddle or a broom? lol! we did! mom would throw it across the cloths line & have us beat the dust out of it lol!bathroom10 so here’s my little bathroom, there’s still a few little tweaks to be done but I like what I’ve gotten done so farbathroom01 bathroom11

MYSTERY POST

bathroomfun01I’m too busy to keep getting into things but I do  anyway lol!  so I’m behind in posting pictures as I’m out the door again to take my van to be checked as the hood keeps popping up & it still leaks from when the tornado took it’s toil on it, so be sure to come back for the  reveal of this great mystery post

SUNDAY SELECTIONS/HOME SWEET HOME

 piano

when I read this it makes me think of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31

Agree 100%

we can live in a house but a home is what we make it,I can remember when in the beginning when we’d rent a place,I could never make it my own because first of all it wasn’t my own & limited to what all you can do & knowing that you’d be leaving one day, but when we bought that first house & it began to become home, there was a sense of belonging, the overwhelming joy of knowing we could paint, hammer, anything we wanted to make it our own

the virtuous woman is  a good example of loving our home & making it our own

Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.
Proverbs 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
Proverbs 31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Proverbs 31:14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
Proverbs 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
Proverbs 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Proverbs 31:17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
Proverbs 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.
Proverbs 31:19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
Proverbs 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
Proverbs 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet.
Proverbs 31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.
Proverbs 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
Proverbs 31:24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth [it]; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Proverbs 31:25 Strength and honour [are] her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
Proverbs 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of kindness.
Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.
Proverbs 31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Proverbs 31:30 Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

-she loves her husband, she loves cleaning her home, cooking, she sews, she blesses people with the works of her hands, she is always available for advice, she is a caregiver, she is a prayer warrior, she’s a gardener, notice in these scriptures how  she blesses others as she is blessed

whatever stage we are in,renting or buying,we can strive to be like the Virtuous woman for  as long as Jesus abides there ,call it home

TEMPT MY TUMMY TUESDAYS /OVEN BAKED FRENCH TOAST

tues

Tempt My Tummy Tuesdays is hosted by Lisa over at

http://www.blessedwithgrace.net/

it’s been a busy week this past week  getting the church ready for our ladies conference so there was a loaf of bread & a dozen eggs going neglected lol! what to do to save it, hummm good ole pinterest lol!I came across several yummy looking recipes for over night French toast but I needed one that I could use with what I had, no French bread,no cream cheese etc just little ole wheat bread lol

there are more that I want to try later but with what I had on hand I went with this one

http://sheldonrachel.blogspot.com/2009/03/french-toast-bake.html

this was the results

bread01

bread02bread03

bread05 bread06

there was an aroma of cinnamon bun smell in the air as it began to bake, making one count down the minutes lol all that ooey gooey goodness bubbling on the bottom when it came out of the oven, as you get to the middle it seemed to take on a mild egg custard taste, this could be results of the type of bread but it was good anyhow,it is rich enough there is no need for syrup, I spooned that goodie on the bottom  onto the top & there was no need for syrup,I defiantly will investigate more versions of the oven baked French toast
