Had the best time this past weekend at the Zoo with my oldest daughter & the grandbabies, missed two of the oldest ones but they were having a great time at a church youth concert,we swung by youngest daughters & picked up the twins
ok back to the baby, as we entered where the orangutan's were there was a crowd & this is what we were all patiently waiting for
seems like we stood there 30 min. but it was worth the wait,I’m a full grown woman & I’ve never seen a baby orangutan lol! isn’t that the sweetest little thing!
have you ever wondered what all can you do with a watermelon besides cut it open & eat it lol! after all these years I decided to think outside the box & do a little search, now I knew about watermelon rind pickles cause hubby eats them when we eat at places that offer them on their buffets
isn’t it amazing how you can find most anything on Pinterest? lol! I decided to give watermelon punch a try, at first taste it tasted like plain ole watermelon juice wasn’t was fine but seriously couldn’t I just drink that from the hull lol! so I added some bottled lemonade turning it into watermelon lemonade which wasn’t half bad, the ice caused it to turn more into slushy ,will I make it again? probably not, mind you it was good but I’d rather eat the watermelon & drink the lemonade as is lol!
now what to do with those rinds I tried to find a recipe closest to the ingredients of the store bought ones he has in the fridge
& I came very very close & came up with 3 jars, with the amount of sugar, & the time span of cooking, soaking over night, cooking some more, will I make them again? probably not unless I find a better recipe, but for now he’s got a lot of watermelon rind pickles to eat cause I don’t eat them lol!
they made syrup like they were suppose to & he tasted it so guess he will like them lol!
we lost our sweet little Shilo early this morning, he was one of five sweet little Chihuahuas to our sweet peaches whom we lost back last Fall
our pets are here for just a short time to give us joy & comfort but when death comes un expectantly, the pain can seem unbearable, he was fine as can be then all of a sudden he had no appetite, early yesterday evening he began to have pains & shortness of breath , Gus & Joe still cry for him as they go all over the house looking for him, they don’t want me out of their sight & even though they are here in my lap the house seems empty
everywhere I was ,Shilo was ,in the recliner everyday at 2:00 watching our Walton's,which I couldn’t bare to sit in today, if I was sewing he’s be right there under the window soaking up sunshine, sometimes in my lap,he would be in my lap now watching me work on the computer yes this is their heater & they know it! Terry is getting ready to go out of town this weekend, he hasn't even left yet & already I can’t wait for him to get home , it will be a long week & I’ll just have to keep myself busy
just popping in to say morning! it’s raining once again , seriously how high can grass get before it stops raining lol! oh well we’re tied up today so we’ll think about that Monday lol!
Do you ever get to that place where you need to wrap something & discover you’re out of saran/cling wrap? the head of lettuce in the fridge was coming up on it’s last leg & I knew if I didn’t deal with it it’ wouldn’t survive much longer lol so I make us a salad for supper, proceed to finish it off by making one for tomorrow night then awww nothing to wrap it in humm think think with the brain, awww Ziploc baggies! lol!
have you seen all the rage on pinterest to put your salad in a mason jar?
I haven’t tried it yet but I did buy some jars to give it a try, most links say the trick to keeping it from getting soggy is to not let the dressing touch the lettuce, to keep it on top, this can also be a fun way to make different salads at one time here are a few fun ideas
