THINKING OF FALL

 

   There’s beginning to be a little nip of fall in the air but for now it's just a tease lol! cool chilly mornings make you want to find heat but that thought ends quickly as the sun begins to rise & you’re reaching for cool on the thermostat lol! I’ve been thinking about how good those Apple Cider Floats were that I discovered a recipe for back last year & how it’s time to dig that recipe out again!

Apple Cider Floats

1c.ginger ale

1/2c.apple cider

van. bean ice cream( you can use reg or apple pie etc)

sprinkle of nutmeg

sprinkle of cinnamon

1-2 Tbs.jarred Carmel sauce( I used smuckers hot Carmel)

fill cup 1/2 full with cider, 2-1 ratio of ginger ale , big scoop of van. ice cream,sprinkle nutmeg & cinnamon on top, add hot Carmel sauce ( I did not heat this up)

SNICKERDOODLES

1 1/2 c.plus 2 tabsp. sugar

1 c. butter (2 sticks) softened

2 eggs

2 3/4 c. all purpose flour

2 teasp.cream of tarter

1teasp. baking soda

1/2 teasp. nutmeg

1/2 teasp.cinnamon

pecan halves

combine 1 1/2 c. sugar, butter & eggs beat on med speed, add flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, cover with plastic wrap , chill for 1-2 hours, heat oven 375, in a small bowl combine sugar & cinnamon, roll dough into balls & roll in cinnamon sugar mixtures, press a pecan half into the center of each cookie, bake 10-12 min, let cool 1 min before removing from pan

I just got back from Mississippi today with my pastors wife & her grandmother, a fun filled three days with her sister running to & fro getting things set in order for her daughter s wedding coming up in Nov. which we’ll be going back to decorate this beautiful church

a week from today it’s back on the the road again , a few of us from church are going to an awesome conference with Judy Jacobs, Marilyn Hickey, Karen Wheaton & other great speakers, there’s much to get done around here before I hit that road again lol!

SALAD IN A JAR DAY FIVE

  Well here we are into day five since I made up salad in a jar , I took a much needed break from cleaning & doing around in the sewing room today & pulled one out & it was still as fresh as when I made it five days ago

I thought I’d share my newest coffee cup, the church did a bake sale at a local church’s craft bazaar this past Sat. & when I saw this cup was red “my color” lol & had dots I knew it had to be mine lol!

SALAD IN A JAR

  seems all the rage is salad's in  a jar, it makes it convenient to grab one  on the go, makes a cute idea for individual salads for a  picnic, I think the ideal behind the jar is so it’ll keep longer & be there already thrown together when the salad craving hits you, so we’re about to see what the rage is all about because I just made up twelve lol!

here we have(3)Poppy Seed, (3) Sundried Tomato (3) Thousand Island & (3) Ranch humm if the poppy & ranch get too close together can we tell them apart, awww labels!

how cute is the salads sitting next to the yogurt lol! 

if this idea does good, I’ll get more creative the next go round, these are just basic salads

*dressing

*shredded carrots

*tomatoes

* cucumbers

*shredded cheese

*real bacon,bacon bits

*lettuce

I think we’ll enjoy having a salad on hand when the craving hits , I love  a good salad but don’t always enjoy dragging everything out to make one when I’m tired & hungry at the same time, oh the jars  I used are wide mouth pints,no rhyme or reason they just seemed the perfect size to me

HOW BLUE ARE YOU

What a storm we had last night, thunder, lighting , no power fierce rain, mercy!the storm has calmed & the fierce rain has reduced to a steady drizzle ,what kind of blues does rain do for you, I choose to have happy blues lol!

I started out this morning with coffee in my raggedy Ann/Andy cup if I hold it in my right hand I see this

I have about 8 of these cups, kids got them for me  a few years ago for Christmas,I’ve often thought about setting up a small coffee station in my sewing room with some of them

is the rain or thoughts of rain still making you blue, well here’s something that’ll cheer you right up lol!
