Quilt blocks that is!
running behind on everything around here from all the excitement I finally sat down long enough to get a few blue blocks together as Feb is fast approaching & we’re moving on with the color pink
http://superscrappy.blogspot.com/p/rsc12.html
I have been so overwhelmed with joy that my brains shut down when it comes to sewing, I’m not kidding lol! I had seen where if you add a white strip to the middle of a block it will give an over all border effect, well that looks wasn’t working for me
then I moved on to pinwheels, humm too large & the middle where the points join was giving me fits
so what to do but walk away then come back & ponder this situation some more
hummm I do like the strip piece look, maybe go smaller? I decided to cut 5’’ squares & sew them onto batting fabric ,this way I don’t have to worry about seams bulking etc. & the batting is already there when I get ready to back it
so here’s the start of my blues
I went with homespun fabrics because I just about have every color in the rainbow due to my raggedy doll making, the color for Feb. is pink & I happen to have a few shades of pink homespun, cha ching! yes I have started pulling out & sorting all my homespuns lol!
my next post I will show you how I make these scrappy blocks, I’m not sure how many more blues I’ll need for a lap size, a few more I’m sure, I have 7 at 5” humm that’s 35across? yea a few more! lol! I can whip those up & then on with the pink!
be sure to go by & see all the great projects going on for the month of Jan over at The Rainbow Scrap Challenge, better yet link up & join in the fun!

Love all the blue plaids and checks together.
Great job. Loving how they are turning out.
Looks like you've got a great start on using your scraps. The homespuns will make such a soft cuddly quilt.
