SUNDAY SELECTIONS

We pray that you are having a wonderful blessed day today, one of our selections for today is an old classic hymn "standing on the promises" Are you standing firm on what God has promised you today, I see God's promises unfold in my life everyday, some are still yet to come

(2nd Corinthians 1:20) says For all the promises of God in him are yea and in him Amen unto the glory of God

Standing on the Promises

R. Kelso Carter

Standing on the promises of Christ my King
Through eternal ages let His praises ring
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing
Standing on the promises of God

Standing, standingStanding on the promises of God my Savior
Standing, standing I'm standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises that cannot fail
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail
By the living Word of God I shall prevail
Standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord
Bound to Him eternally by love's strong cord
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword
Standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises I cannot fall
Listening every moment to the Spirit's call
Resting in my Savior as my all in all
Standing on the promises of God

Alternate verse:

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free
Standing on the promises of God

May you have a wonderful blessed day today!!!!!

I love your hymn selection for today! I miss singing the old hymns I grew up with. I guess I'm just old fashioned, but I prefer the oldies rather than the new praise songs sung at our church. Sometimes old standards are sung, but not too often.
Blessings,
Carol

Helen, I haven't heard this in years, and it was such a blessing to hear it today. We used to sing this in youth league on Sunday nights! I remember it well!

XO,

Sheila :-)
