AWW BA HUM BUG MY COOKIES WONT TURN OUT

 Let’s just say this past week has given me  a run for my money, leaving me one sick Nanna, I thought since I had a little energy I’d try a little baking, I feel so bad my cookies wont even turn out lol!
I decided to enter them anyways, after all it’s the recipe that makes the cookie right? I’m sure flat ugly cookies will not stop hubby from eating them

TRADITIONAL SUGAR COOKIES
1 cup butter(2 sticks)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teasp. clear van (I only had reg.)
1/2teasp. clear almond extract
2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
2 teasp.baking powder
1 egg
1 teasp.salt (opt)
preheat oven to 400
cream butter & sugar till light & fluffy
beat in egg & extracts
blend in flour & baking power one cup at a time
knead in food color if desired do not chill dough
roll out onto floured surface & cut out with desired cookie cutters
bake on ungreased cookie sheet 6-7 min or till lightly brown, will be soft to touch when taken out of oven

I LOVE A GOOD CHALLENGE

 Seems I’ve been locked away in the sewing room for the last two months sewing sewing sewing for my show & even though I’m still in there off & on lol now sewing things for my daughters show then I’ve decided to do another show in Dec, I know! sew crazy! lol! anyways back to the challenge, let’s make a scarf!

other than  finding things to get into as though there’s not enough, I noticed the quilt that hangs in my bedroom is the same  pattern I’m doing for the Great granny Square Quilt Along, funny how it just stood out the other night lol! my husbands grandmother made this for our first Christmas together way back in 1975

it made me smile to think how she would of thought it was kinda neat how that pattern came up after all these years, this quilt  started out as a quilt along challenge & now it has went beyond much deeper than that as sweet memories flood my soul

this makes me want to finish it even more!

I didn’t even have time to make a new recipe for the 12 weeks of Christmas Treats. oh well this week for sure! my poor sewing room, see all the nakies laying about lol! see I’ve still got the bay window to do? that’s because I choose to cut off the sewing when I decided to give up one of my tables to my daughter who set up to raise funds for for our sweet new addition coming from China

we both did great! what will happen in the sewing room this week? (A.)will the sewing room get put back together ?  ( B)will those curtains get made?(C )will those nakies get finished? here’s a hint, my daughter’s doing a show at her church this weekend to help raise funds for adoption for our sweet new addition coming to the family very soon!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, it will seem a little strange this year as I have a wedding to set up for out of town that week, so hubby is taking his dad & older brother to Virginia to see their younger brother, so this week breaks from the sewing room will involve getting the house ready for Christmas

MOOSE ALERT

A few months back my nephew & his wife & sweet daughter moved to Montana,a dream come true for them ever since they could remember, she posted on FB of  a visitor in her driveway when she returned home from town

a few hours later mama came looking for her baby lol! they stayed there for hours

a few days later here comes big daddy lol!

wouldn’t you love to come home to a moose in your yard ? LOL!

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

wow! we are into week six of 12 weeks of Christmas Treats, how many goodies have you tested? today I made flourless chocolate chip cookies, I didn’t have enough powdered sugar so I halved the recipe, it’s been a long time since I had to add/subtracted fractions lol!  but they still turned out fantastic!I’m sure once I made the recipe as it calls for they’ll even better than they are,plus give me more cookies! they crackle on top leaving a brownie like texture in the middle, yummy!
