ROAST/THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX

roast01

How long have we all been cooking roast in one fashion or another,seems like no matter how we spice it up it’s always forgiving & turns out good, stretching food is good lol!we buy the big bag of taters so we can make other side items, fries,mashed taters, tater salad, the list goes on & on, onions are cheaper by the pound , so buy  a big one cut it in fourths, the rest can be used  for other things, right? & those carrots  humm if we get the big bag  we can make carrot salad, munch on them etc. we’ve all done it his way through the years right? but this time as we’re strolling through the store gathering things to go with the roast, hubby spies this little bag of potatoes,roast02

I draw his attention to the price, which is about the same as a 10lb bag  but he just knows they’ll be soooo good, so I say why not? do something different after all these years, it’s good to step outside the box once in awhile lol! then he spies these roast03

ok the taters not so bad, just rinse & toss but those pearl onions would have to be peeled roast05

now who's ideal was it to step outta the  comfort box?

finally it’s all over, now the only thing left to do is set it and forget it, call me when it’s done I’m grabbing  a good book and going back to my box lol!

SHAME ON YOU ANOYMOUS!

At first glance 22 comments seems exciting, finally people like what I have to say lol! anyways I noticed it was long paragraphs of the same foreign signs etc over & over

do you know how long it takes to delete 22 comments, when you click the little trash can it deletes but leaves deleted by the administrator 22 times, to get that to go away you have to go back & click the little trash can again, another 22 times,

I then went into my settings & noticed it was set on anybody  including anonymous, I changed it to registered users including open ID, I hope this rids problems of so much deleting  & not mess up all my blogging friends who have something to say

SUNDAY SELECTIONS AMAZING GRACE

piano

Amazing Grace one of the most beloved of all Hymns was written by John Newton.

Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

(from the July-August 1996 issue of “Away Here in Texas)

on a homeward voyage, while he was attempting to steer the ship through a violent storm, he experienced what he was to refer to later as his “great deliverance.” He recorded in his journal that when all seemed lost and the ship would surely sink, he exclaimed, “Lord, have mercy upon us.” Later in his cabin he reflected on what he had said and began to believe that God had addressed him through the storm and that grace had begun to work for him.

For the rest of his life he observed the anniversary of May 10, 1748 as the day of his conversion, a day of humiliation in which he subjected his will to a higher power. “Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ’tis grace has bro’t me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.”

NEVER TOO BIG FOR TOYS LOL!

Anything big in the appliance category is like a big ole toy to us like when our daughter bought us a huge waffle maker, the mixer that still hasn't found a permanent spot on the counter  that I just had to have lol! but when I went to cook the turkey today, there wasn’t  a pan big enough, so you see our dilemma, we just had to do it!

toy

needless to say it didn’t come with any cooking directions, humm should be like an oven right? lol! anyways  two hours into it the turkey is starting to brown  & smelling delightfully good!

toy01

not sure how long it’ll take to get fully done, should we stay up & turkey sit lol! or go to bed & set the clock to check it, this is going to be interesting for sure!
