SUNDAY SELECTIONS

Welcome to Sunday Selections ,Today is an exciting day, so I must hurry LOL so many have been out sick but a new dawn has broken & the praise team is ready to back the choir up with Praise & Thanksgiving as we start off with DAYS OF ELIJAH
For our hymnal selections,
* I NEVER SHALL FORGET THE DAY
*I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MY LORD

"I Never shall Forget The Day" Have you forgotten when Jesus saved you, when you had no hope within saved you .cleansed you, gave you peace & joy within, have you forgotten all the times he's came through for you, made all the rough roads smooth "when trials comes he comforts me" if you've never heard of this song, I encourage you to read through it & let it minister to you

Long years ago when out in sin I had no hope no peace within
Down on my knees in agony I prayed to Jesus & he gladly set me free
(chorus)
I NEVER SHALL FORGET THE DAY WHEN ALL THE BURDENS OF MY SOUL WERE ROLLED AWAY IT MADE ME HAPPY GLAD & FREE, ILL SING & SHOUT IT FOR HE'S EVERYTHING TO ME
Now I can feel him by my side, my feeble steps he comes to guide
When trials comes he comforts me thru faith in him over sin I have the victory
(chorus)
O sinner come to Jesus now,at his dear feet just humbly bow
Confess to him your every sin, he will save & cleanse you
Give you you peace & joy within
(chorus)

I Never Shall Forget The day was written by George Thomas Speer, born in a sharecroppers cabin in Fayette country Georgia in 1891, taught at shaped notes singing schools, sang at many rural singing conventions, married in 1921 & organized the Speer Quartet, over the next 15 years he trained each of his four children to sing & play instruments, gradually converting into The Singing Speer Family, he wrote many gospel songs, also including Heavens Jubilee, The Dearest Friend I Ever Had, He Is Mine And I am His

We hope you've enjoyed Sunday Selections, think about the songs you sing, what they mean, where's they come from, what inspired them, I pray that each of you have a wonderful blessed day, for this is a new day, a day that the Lord has made & I will rejoice & be glad in it

starting with the left side, I used a small yellow, a Small round fuzzy yellow, greenery & blades of
grass & small daisy like white flowers

the same effect is used on the right side, just tucking here & there to your liking, I added a
sunflower to the middle of the bottom of the wreath using the same effect of the flowers as on
the sides

ladybugs are muslin based stuffed, painted barn red, when
dry paint on black dots , dry then sand & stain, with wire cutters snip off small pieces of thin
black wire,I used floral wire, curl around to make antennas, add a touch of glue & insert through
head, wire is inserted on the bottom of the ladybug's & wired to the wreath

now hang "your" wreath & stand back & look at "your" wreath lol aren't you proud now on the
the next "me" thing on the list, we hope you enjoyed making your ladybug wreath

INTRODUCING SUNDAY'S SELECTION'S

Welcome to Sunday Selections
Have you ever wondered where our older hymns came from, what inspired the writer to write them, being choir director, I love learning the history of the old hymns as well as the stories behind them, it's good to blend the what I like to call the classics in with our praise & worship music, for there are deep meanings within them that are messages within themselves for they were written from the heart, during trials, heart aches & tribulations
So I thought I'd share what I love, my choir, my music & a little bit of history of those wonderful old hymns that are so quickly becoming forgotten

be sure to visit us on Sunday mornings for Sunday Selctions

WHEN IT CALLS YOU

Have you ever been in a place when suddendly you catch something out of the corner of your eye & you're drawn to it like a moth to a flame LOL, you zero in on it,there's something about it that makes your heart pound as you get closer, before even checking the price you know you must have it at all cost, careful not to squeal now, for you are in a crowded place after all, but you are oblivious to your surroundings, as you reach out to pick it up, there's an instant bond between you & your new found treasure, you quickly make your way to the checkout before tears of joy begin to flow,as you make your way to the car you already know exactly where it will go when you get home, isn't God good when he blesses us when we least expect it
