TMTT /BACON RANCH POTATOE SALAD

You know when a picture just looks like it'd be good , one of our grocery stores had these little recipe pamphlet books promoting ranch dressing, I got the things to make it & yes it was umm umm good! This is a keeper for the recipe box

BACON RANCH POTATO SALAD

1/2 c.Miracle Whip Dressing

1/4c.Kraft Ranch Dressing

1/4 tsp.salt

1/4 tsp.black pepper

1/8 tsp.garlic powder

3 lb.small red potatoes(quartered & cooked)

6 slices Bacon(cooked) **I used thick bacon & cut instead of crumble

1 stalk celery(none for me we don't like it) LOL

1/2c.thin red pepper strips( I cut mine in bite size pieces)

4 green onions, chopped ( I didn't use the white part)

Mix dressings & seasonings in large bowl

Add remaining ingredients, mix lightly

depending on how many potatoes you cook you may want to add this a little at a time till you get it the consistency you like

SUN. SELECTIONS /A TIME FOR READING

Welcome to Sunday Selections, we pray that you've had a glorious & blessed week , as always we've had a busy but good one LOL, a friend & I were talking about reading, now that sounds like a fairly easy thing to do right? LOL but you'd be surprised how there aren't enough time to sit & read, oh there's lots of reading & studying going on for Ladies meetings, Wed. night studies, etc but to sit & just read, as we talk & laugh how maybe we should join in on a book challenge to get some reading in LOL, it was that search that lead me to this one

click here to download & print out reading schedule

even though reading through the bible is a good thing , still be sure to have that alone time of absorbing God's word & studying II Tim.2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God ,a workman that needth not be ashamed

on a lighter note I thought these looked interesting if time allows for reading LOL

if you love to read check out more book challenges here

SUN. SELECTIONS /HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Happy Father's day we celebrate those we love whether it be dad, a grandad, a son-n-law, a son,a mentor, there's even some great Uncles out there who's done a lot for niece's & nephews, I have fond memories of going to my grandparents where you learned how to milk a cow, feed the chickens, gather eggs, there was even fishing involved LOL, there were Uncles who had dairy farms, we saw the storm cellar as a neat place to play in , I am thankful that I have son-n-laws that love & provide for my daughters & grandchildren, I am thankful to be blessed with another year with my dad who still gives advice & is always there when we need him, so be sure to tell someone Happy Father's Day today

WHAT MAKES A DAD
God took the strength of a mountain
The majesty of a tree
The warmth of a Summer sun
The calm of a quite sea
The generous soul of nature
The comforting arm of night
The wisdom of the ages
The power of the eagle's flight
The joy of the morning in Spring
The faith of a mustard seed
The patience of eternity
The dept of a family need
Then God combined these qualities
When there was nothing more to add
He knew his masterpiece was complete
He called it..........DAD

SIGNS OF SUMMER

Looks like a good year for our fruit this year, everything is loaded down & I do believe the birds have marked their calendars for they are singing just a little too happy these days LOL

The grapes are happy this year, we started off with about three little sprigs from my father-n-laws plants,& now are growing like crazy ,they are the dark concord grapes & make the best jelly!

the fig bush was here when we moved her 20 years ago, the neighbor told us it was a Japanese fig, the get the size of a golf ball, no kidding! just look at the size of those leaves! if the birds don't get them I' ll get a picture when they get bigger LOL

Blue berries! Blueberries!these will get the size of a dime , they've gotten so big through the years they desperately need moving, they are loaded down this year,

the sweet smell of Honeysuckle is every where

We have Mimosas, & yes they are pretty but not when they take over the yard LoL

my Lillie's are so thick, there's at least 30 to a cluster, way too many, sooo guess what I'll be doing soon LOL these are more pink/yellow than what's showing in the picture & on futher down is a variety of different colors

I forget what these bushes are called, I got them from my mom a few years ago & have been babying them for the last five years or so, they will be full of thick white blooms soon

I hope I will be able to get to everything before the birds do this year, they are smart! a few years a go we were getting in the car headed toward town when we noticed the grapes were ripe, humm gotta pick those as soon as we get back, we wouldn't you know it! a little birdie set out to tell all his friends LOL there wasn't one grape left when we got back & we weren't gone longer than an hour, no kidding! LOL

Count Your Blessings by St John's Children's Choir

Welcome to Sunday Selections, today I am sharing an old classic "COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS"
Count your blessings name them one by one
Count your blessings see what God has done
Count your blessings, name them one by one
Count your many blessings see what God has done

This ole thyme favorite hymn is tried & true , it goes as far back as the late nineteenth & early twentieth centuries, written by Johnson Oatman Jr. it first appeared in songs for young people, it was stated in The London daily that men sing it, boys whistle it & mothers rock their babies to it
perhaps you haven't heard this old song since you were a young child, perhaps you've never heard it, as you listen to this children's choir sing prepare to be blessed

SUNDAY SELECTIONS...EAT THE COOKIE

Welcome to Sunday Selections, we pray that you've had a fantastic week & are enjoying a glorious weekend, we've had a busy week with the norm, yard work, grand babies, birthday parties etc., this coming week will be a busy one as well, there's Ala. Camp meeting, Ala. Women's Conference, & don't forget Father's day is coming up!

do you recall the old classic "BLESSED ASSURANCE"

Blessed assurance Jesus is mine oh what a foretaste of glory devine....this is my story , this is my song, praising my savior all the day long.....

did you know this hymn was written by Fanny J.Crosby, it is said that musician friends would first compose the music then ask Fanny Crosby for the words, it is truly amazing that anyone, especially a blind person could write of spiritual truths & experiences with such proliferation
If you have the time, research Fanny Crosby, you'll find that it's a great read

speaking of read, have read any good books lately, I added another to my office library collection "EAT THE COOKIE & BUY THE SHOES" by Joyce Meyer

In this book Joyce teaches how we are not built for guilt, through the book she reminds that God wants you to enjoy your life, he wants you to celebrate his mercies, your victories & how that sometimes we lose the joy & the pleasure that are God-given gifts I love what this says.......sadly if we are not confident about our choices, we can easily let other peoples comments make us feel guilty and ruin the joy we need to experience in life through doing the little things that mean a lot to us

DREAMIN ABOUT YARD WORK~

Yep it's time to stop dreaming about what to do in the yard & just do it! LOL LOL I have lots of ideas, lots of pictures from my newest magazine, you know the ones you buy for "eye candy" & say ohhh I can do that! ohh I've got one of those! LOL LOL, well this picture is just that! I came across it on line & knew instantly what to do with my little house, I have the house, I have the shutter out in the shed, I have gift certificates for Home Depot for flowers etc. LOL oh yea I think I can make this happen!

I"ll be on this project as soon as it stops raining LOL but that's ok , it'll make the ground easier to break up for planting flowers! ok here's my little house, it was used for a play house so many years ago, then a catch all, & now serves as my little garden shed, can't wait to transform it! So whatta ya think? can I do it! I think I can! I think I can! oh yea you know I am! as soon as the rain stops! LOL
