I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED! LOL!

Have you ever been so close to a finish then boom ,stuff happens lol! well I was on a good roll, doing good, so proud of my first ever princess seams, lol!

all I had left was sleeves, buttonholes & the collar, sooooo close!

so far so good, I decide I’d try it on, took  a deep breath &pinned it where the buttons would go, the good thing is I’m in it! yea butttt I see some skin showing lol! which means  after the buttons are on they may wantta pop off lol!

so off for more fabric ,I have the new size all cut out & tomorrow I begin again! five days left!no pressure what so ever!LOL!

2013 TOP SEW ALONG

Faye's Essential Top sew Along starts Sun. IT TAKES TWO TO MAKE PIZZA

well if you wantta have fun it does lol! I divided the dough into thirds & let hubby try his hand at making calzones while I made the pizza

they were a little full lol! but hey this was our first time lol! lets see how my pizza turned out

this dough recipe was ok but I will be looking for a different recipe, I think this recipe would make a great biscuit recipe lol! no mater how thin I rolled it out it rose up like a biscuit but it did crisp up on the edges & I like that  just think there could be some improvements, I absolutely love time in the kitchen together & we will be trying our hand at homemade pizza again

PRINCESS SEAMS AND ALL THAT!

well the time has come, it has to be washed & has to be cut , cut? yikes! mercy the things  I can find to get into lol!, so I signed up to sew my own wardrobe for a year   humm I think I can swing that, I’ve been wanting to get back into sewing , then I find the top challenge   wellll as long as I’m sewing for the other, right? but then there was the fitted blouse challenge , I see rules, guidelines, deadlines lol!, set in sleeves, I’m no dummy I know what that is lol , collar, I get that, princes seams.I know what they are,  just never done them

so I open the pattern & begin to investigate, humm measure your top bust, then your bottom bust, now I just had to laugh , mind you I haven't bought clothing patterns in over 25 years lol, I know well kinda know what this means but you have to admit when that’s the first thing you read it’s kinda funny as I know through the years I probably could say I have  2 chins, 2 tummies but 2 bust,? would somebody help me find the 2nd one, perhaps I can combine it with the other one & actually have one lol! so after I had my laughing fit I begin to investigate princess seams, they all seem to think you clip, humm I know this method, I’ve done it lol! but after all these  years clip sounds like a scary word, you can unstitch but you can’t unclip lol! as I hold my buttonhole thiny in my hand I have no idea what to do with it lol!

IT’S ALL MINE I TELL YA!

this is Gus & he is in cinnamon toast heaven !this morning I decided to try a new recipe, oven baked cinnamon toast Gus was in hog heaven or should I say doggie heaven lol! when hubby dropped one of his, off he went running what a  sight to behold lol!,noticed how the legs went out when he heard the first click of the camera  as to say back off! it’s mine! all mine! lol!

now to try homemade pizza , sure hope I don’t drop that lol!

since I just came across this while reading through my blog list , it’s too late to find a good quilt show lol! so I’ll work on  my quilt instead, but in the meantime I went  way  way way back into my files & thought I’d share where I went to a quilt show three years ago, ready?????

I was on a good roll cleaning house this morning but now that I know it’s National Quilting Day, I think I’ll work & spend some quality time with my quilt lol!

When I think ok how long have I been sewing first one thing and another, then I come across things like I did today on Pinterest, good ole Pinterest! LOL!

how many times have we cut patterns too small or tried to fold those tiny little lines, & that carbon paper! oh  my! this Blogger takes you through  how to transfer your patterns onto freezer paper, who knew! this was a good find since I haven’t sewn cloths in ages, I know  what line I “use” to cut on lol! but that was 30 years ago, 30 pounds  plus some ago & many lines over ago lol!

PATTERNS! FABRICS! & BOOKS! OH MY!

Hancock's has been having fantastic sales  5 for $5 these last few weeks, it was McCall's this past week

this fabric  was on the sale table & started calling my name lol!

the picture doesn’t give it justice, as it’s a deep green than it looks, I thought it’ll look good for a Jacket & a skirt & blouse from the print, well according the patterns I needed around 5  yds, I ‘m not even 5yd’s tall lol! the saleslady says well there's only a little over 3 butttttt it’s 67” wide hummm, I smiled & said  well as short as I am I believe I can make that work , I’ll take all of it lol!this outfit is going to be interesting! lol!

I also went to the Library to see about some books for the reading challenges I’ve signed up for

I thought I’d better snag these since I’m going to have to re-teach myself on  a few things

now let’s talk about this blouse challenge I’ve gotten myself into lol!when I came across it, I thought humm  this might be fun, I “need” to familiarize myself with the buttonhole feature lol!I just wanted to have some fun trying to make a blouse after all these years, once I entered into their world I realized me & totto wasn’t in Kansas anymore and there was no turning back lol!you have to do this & do that & better not do that or this away, there’s rules about this & that lol! pictures must be on yourself, oh my! what if it wont fit, what if,,,of I can’t think about it lol!then I see Review! humm will it be  my shirt is white my shirt is tight,baaa haa haa this for sure is going to be a hoot as I have fell outta of my comfort box faster than expected lol!

FREEZER MEALS

It seems that freezer meals is all the rage on Pinterest  right now, last week I had mentioned that was going to be my next project, so here’s the rundown on what I did, above is sloppy Joes, we haven’t tried them yet, but sure smelt good when I was mixing it together lol!

Paula Deens White Bean Chili with Chicken, I know this is good because my daughter’s made it for us before

Baked Chicken Fajitas, this was good but I think I like them better grilled

Chicken Teriyaki, this was disappointing, the carrots took away form whatever it was supposed to taste like, I almost threw it out & went for burgers lol! I will not make this again!

 good ole eggs , bacon & cheese is fool proof for breakfast burritos, hubby grabs one out of the freezer on his way out the door when he’s on midnights, I will most defiantly be playing around with more breakfast ideas

 

pepper Steak, I don’t even wantta talk about it, even adding all the seasonings the recipe called for & good ole salt & pepper it still tasted flat, I will not be making this again!

my recipe for Broccoli casserole, I’ve made this for years & it’s good, so I thought I’d make some up for Sunday dinners or whenever, it was a keeper from the start

my sisters meatloaf recipe, I’ve made this through the years & for when I’ve took someone a meal, it has the ole thyme catsup topping & makes the house  smell delicious while baking, things have came up & I was able to bless two families with the meatloaf & the casserole, this is what makes freezer meals a good idea

can you say cornbread? a sweet friend  from church made me cornbread for sharing a few meals with her, they are made with buttermilk & I dare say  way better than Cracker Barrel! to pop some in the microwave , oh my word!
