CHRISTMAS COOKIES WEEK ONE

Welcome to 12 weeks of Christmas Cookies

I had shared this recipe a few years ago & thought it’d be a great  start to the 12 weeks of Christmas cookies, they're super simple & really do taste like butterfingers

PEANUT BUTTER WANTTABES

triscuit crackers

peanut butter

choc.almond bark

spread peanut butter between 2 triscuits

dip in choc bark, lay on wax or foil lined cookie sheet

I dipped them out with a fork & shook off excess choc. then shaved the edges with a knife after they cooled to give a cleaner look

Be sure to get in on the fun of 12 weeks of Christmas cookies , how will we ever make them all LOL

they need a good cleaning up first lol being home  along all week this week I went to the library & picked up some delicious books on  “DECORATING” “COOKIES” “COOKIE SWAPS”  “HERBS” “COUNTRY DECORATING” DECORATING WITH BLUE”

now I’ll say it again, I’m not a Blue person LOL but I was drawn to all the “eye candy” within this book   bm01

COOKIE JAR OR SOUP TERRENE?

Welllllll the tag says cookie jar, but we all know that  things are not always what they appear to be LOL LOL

pumpkincookie01

tag says dishwasher safe (we know how hot that can get right?) lol says ceramic , nowhere does it say,not intended for food consumption lol so it may appear to be a cookie jar but in my kitchen it is a soup terrene  LOL

TWEAKING THE OFFICE

office  Organizing, culling out, rearranging, tweaking, makes for room for more books LOL there’s more books  just have to find where &how to place them, I want my office to be a room that makes me want to be here, one where I know where stuff is, one that makes researching a joy not a chore,I am also a firm believer in having things around you that bring you joy,the collection of Bibles atop the bookcases are Bibles we’ve had for the last 36 years yep we kept them all lol

office01

the Angel is from a dear friend which reminds me of her & to lift her  name up in prayer

office02 more Bibles stacked beside her belong to my husband, they are from his childhood, from grandparents, one is actually his great grandmothers the tear bottle is a gift from my sister-n-law this past Christmas

office03

there’s more tweaking to be done, remember  when church’s had the wooden boards with Sunday school /attendance/offering/ Bibles etc on them????my pastors wife knows I love antiques & she entrusted me with our church's original one, can’t  wait to show you in tweaking the office part 2!

WHAT DRAWS YOU TO A BLOG

have you asked the question, what draws me to a certain blog? what is it that makes me linger  more than others? I pondered these questions as well as I went through my blogger dashboard while having that first cup of coffee this morning

Is it eye candy that that seek for? we all love love love pretty pictures lol

recipes are good, I’m always finding way more good stuff than I need to be making & eating lol

tutorials seem to be a good thing

if you’re an avid reader, book selections are good, I love  to read but I ask myself would it make for interesting post?

I’ve been trying to figure out how to make the little tabs  across the top of the blog & how to jazz it up  ,I’ve noticed  lately  that a lot of my followers have turned into peekers lol I love my peekers  it just makes me wonder if  now what I have to say is no longer interesting, is the overall look just bla lol

so what is it that draws you to a blog & makes you want to make a cup of coffee & linger?

LATTER RAIN

SUNDAY SELECTIONS

piano have you ever awaken to the sound of rain?It was raining ever so softly early this morning around 4:30 am, since I was up I decided  ok why not so I make coffee, & research poems on rain , you know me & my poems! LOL, when you have time you should type in Judy Jacobs “WE Agree”on you tube, she sings a powerful song on Believing God for  a latter rain, the Bible speaks of a latter rain coming of an outpouring of God’s power, a time of refreshing & renewing of the spirit

Soft Rain

A soft rain falls outside my window, its sounds play in consonance with
the steady rhythm of my heart.
I watch mesmerized as each liquid bead
bounces off budding greenery, flower petals, and
blades of freshly mown grass.
With a splatter, each burst forth into tiny crystal rivulets,
randomly rushing headlong on their cursory course
to a pre-arranged destiny of final absorption.
Light rain. Spring rain. Latter rain.
It fills my soul. My cup overflows.
As quickly as it had begun,
this afternoon shower is almost done.
Comforting – soothing – relaxing – this spring rain is.
It washes the earth and cleanses the heart,
leaving my inner being composed and serene.
Ever so gently, it lulls me into a welcoming nap.
I wake refreshed.
From my window, as I soak in the beauty of a freshly bathed earth,
I see sunlight sparkling through silken threads of dwindling raindrops.
Renewed and invigorated, I stretch relaxed muscles and
breathe in ionic-charged air.
For the moment, peace prevails
deep within the recesses of my soul.
With it, a tranquility is sustained,
like the vibrancy of green after the rain.
